I am with you on Qb Trey Owen’s. He looked real good. Going to be hard to keep him unless he is patient and truly loves being in Austin.

Its not uniform related, but one year we started playing pregame music that excited the players and a group of older fans complained that they did not like the music. They said the music should be for the fans not the players. I told one group that if they were playing we might consider it. Did not go over very well.

Speaking of fast. Told a student that I was frustrated with that wisdom has been chasing him for a long time, but you are just to fast. His reply to me was, yeah coach, I am fast, I replied, yes your very fast.

Wasn’t the Cayuga AD Head Football coach the OC at Palestine for Angel. Would he be interested and would the school be interested in him.

My sister was a cheerleader at Daingerfield from 83-85. Moved there from Palestine in 82. I did not have the privilege of seeing the 83 team as I was in Okinawa in the Marines. My Dad sent newspaper clippings after every game to me. Would have love to seen them in person like I did 84-86. The Daingerfield vs Jefferson playoff game in 86 was the hardest hitting High School game I ever seen.

Good pic. Could have called holding but not interference. Receiver pushed off, and the receiver tried to stop the separation.

No. If you recorded it like I and watched the play the receiver initiated the first contact, trying to get separation. Ball was not in the air yet so offensive or defensive interference could not have happened. The the defensive back held his ground but but there was still a little separation then the defensive back, made up the ground and knocked it down. Was a horrible call that should’ve not been made. Port Neches Grove has to worry about people talking about this call. Who knows they could’ve scored a TD on fourth down but now a lot of people will say they won because of that call. it was like the official waited to see if receiver, caught the ball when he didn’t he called interference if he called holding then that’s something different should’ve stayed in his pocket.

That was a great story about Bussey at halftime. As a Longhorn fan I wish he was coming to Texas but I understand A&M is a great engineering school. My niece graduated from there last year and works as a veterinarian in Austin of all places. It was the best place for her to go.

Why to people like the ones that are on the show PTI say something that is not factual such like Monday when they said Arch Manning could be going to Ohio State since Ewers is coming back. It’s like the just throw something out there to see if it gains tractions.

The number 12 ranking will always go to the highest ranked non power 5 school. So they are not saying Liberty is better but yes if we were doing a 12 team playoff this year Oklahoma and LSU would be the first 2 out at #13 and #14 in the rankings. That means all power 5 schools have 11 spots and only 1 non-power 5 gets in every year.

Unfortunately this will not be the last time this debate over who’s deserving and who is not since the top division in NCCA football does not play a true playoff format. I remember one year Camron Yoe lost their tailback in the playoffs and it might have cost them a state championship but they at least got to play the game, but they were not as good without him. NCAA has been using Polls, computers, and now committees to tell who the best is. I promise you after we go to 12 teams next year they’ll be people on here complaining that a 12 - 0 Liberty or UCF should have been in. This is my last post on this no matter the comments that will come after this post. I think all the top 6 in this last ranking are deserving but there were only 4 spots and the committee did the best they could. Would not have wanted there job.
