Let’s ignore the fact that probably every other HC in America has also ignored some ridiculous teenage demands when it comes to recruiting. Nick is not the first person to turn a recruit away for asking for ridiculous promises nor will he be the last. Every other coach just didn’t feel the need to broadcast it out of some sort of self righteous ego trip. 

     Saban said what he said about his QBs NIL deal because he was making a point about how stupid it was to give someone that has not even been named the starter yet that amount of money. Saban does not like NIL. That is why he made the comment about this last little thing that came up. It makes other teams with resources able to get better quicker. So of course he is not going to like it. I don't need anything to make me like or dislike Saban. I respect the job he has done but he can whine a lot to. I do not think he has said anything about NIL that most people don't agree with.

    If anyone is derailing this thread it’s you (wet). The article was about a High School kid that has not even been to one practice or sign with the team wanting something. At least Young had been at practice and had played in games. Played in enough that someone was willing to bank on him being the starter the next 2 years. Saban apparently thinks there is a big difference.

    I like Rice on offense but he need a lot of work on defense. don't know if it is effort or technique but he seems to always be trailing the man he guarding all the time and gives way to many easy lay ups on cuts to the basket. How hard is it to stay in between your man and the goal.

    1. Texas fans did not have anything to do with Arch being the #1 recruit. I hope he is deserving of his ranking and hope Sark did his own research and scouting and got this right.

    2. The best ever you are talking about is his ranking number which was something like .987 or something close to that. One of the highest ranked 5 stars at UT. I think this is what most fans are using the term best ever about.Nobody really knows how good he is going to be but the tools are all there, and so is the pedigree. 
     

    3. Everyone is entitled to there opinion so it’s fine if some of you want to say he is an average 4star. History has proven that QBs with the last name Manning have a good track record of being a good competitor and good Qb. I believe most fan bases and programs would take him in a heartbeat.

    I have listen to many radio an Tv commentators say that the Big 12 from top to bottom may be the toughest league this year. It will be hard for any team from this conference to make the 4 team playoffs because I think it is possible for the 2 teams playing in the Big 12 championship to have 2 losses. I will be hoping Texas wins all 5 of these games, and it is possible, but going 3 & 2 is also quite possible. Regardless this team is much better culture wise ,and talent wise, and I really think next year will be a break out year.

With Ewers healthy and the Conference being down, Texas would be looking at 10-2 record and a likely Big 12 championship appearance. I think they are in trouble this weekend as Traylor and Company are playing their Super Bowl in DKR. Hope I'm wrong. 

    The 2nd sentence of what I said is all I care about. If they do that and lose the game because third 3rd team Qb is not up to the task than fine. I just don't want to see any quit in the team at any time anywhere like last year. There moto need's to be All Gas and No Quit. Play to the final whistle and live with the results.

    How they responds the next 2 weeks will give me all the answers I need. If they come out with the same intensity and energy as the did last Saturday week end and week out. Then the program has took a big step forward. I am tired of hearing about Alabama, its over lets move on. UTSA will bring all they got Saturday, that's all we should be focused on. If that turns out to be the case then I will feel good about this team and it's chances this year. If it turns out they are just happy about playing Bama close and reading about how good they are then we will take our usual 1 step forward and 2 step back approach
