That guy isn't from Gilmer, so im not even sure what this means. Nobody from Gilmer is making a big deal out of a 20 pt win. I figured Gilmer girls would win, and I'm certainly surprised by the margin, but Tatum had a great team, undefeated and ranked #5 in the state, so maybe it was a pretty big deal? In your reference to the boys game that followed, we are talking about two different games. Gilmer doesn't usually make it out of the first round, so no big surprise they lost, even to the 4th seed. They played 14 games all season, so kinda hard to gel into a real competitive basketball team with so few games, which kinda tells you about our district since it almost got swept. I actually figured SH would have fared better against Carthage than anyone any other teams against their opponents.

I kinda thought the same thing, but even though Tatum played a bit softer schedule than Gilmer, the Eagles did beat MP Chapel Hill, who did beat Gilmer by one point. My point being, I felt Tatum's record was a bit deceptive, even though Tatum had a great team. Bri Mitchell is still the best player, but she was just outplayed by a better team. If you let Destiny Brooks shoot open looks, you will pay, I've said it all season. Gilmer's height advantage was also a factor, as Gilmer came to play. Kudos to Tatum though, heck of a season, and they will be back next year!

I honestly think y'all's district will take 2 of the 4 games, possibly 3 of 4. Center and Henderson shouldn't have a problem, Spring Hill should handle Carthage, and I think Gilmer "could" take Tatum, just depends on which Buckeye team shows up, could really go either way.

Agree! This will be a close game. Tatum will have the best player on the court in Bri Mitchell, Gilmer will have the best shooter in Destiny Brooks. Both teams are offensive nightmares for defenses, but I think this will be a relatively low scoring game so rebounding and making stops will be key. Gilmer has played a tougher schedule, especially in district, but Tatum is playing with so much confidence it's unbelievable. Best TEAM wins, so I'll go with Gilmer by 6. Winona's gym is nice, but nothing extravagant like Lobo, Tatum or Hallsville's, its actually kinda small for a 4A double header. Get there early!

This is correct. SH losing to Gladewater by 3, pretty much put the nail in the coffin. Gilmer shouldn't have any trouble beating Kilgore, but Spring Hill beating CH would take some devine intervention to say the least.

Lol! Currently, the boys teams I thought would make the playoffs so far are there, just in a different order. Gilmer has surprised me, especially since they have played so few games. The second half will be fantastic! The girls side has been pretty easy to predict. If everything goes the way it "should", looks like Spring Hill will grab that 4th playoff spot. Currently tied with Kilgore for fourth, really only needs to win Friday against Gladewater with two games left. SH has Gladewater and Chapel Hill left. Kilgore has Bullard and Gilmer left.
