  1. Agree it would not be a shock to see Rhoades back into the coaching ranks. Coach had his share of injuries and discipline issues which slowed down progress in his second time around at Yoe. He is still a good coach someone would be lucky to have. I would bet on Mansfield or Desoto ISD as good names to be dropped ---just a guess but you never know when Yoe has to hire Coaches the best candidate does not always win out. Good luck to the coach who gets the Yoe job, hope the parents and fans give time to reboot the program. AD needs to be ready to protect his staff and be setting in on a lot of parent conferences his first year and totally disregard social media.
  2. When Rhoades left the first time it would not have mattered if Darrell Royal had walked through the door Yoe Superintendent was going hire the assistant coach and home town boy. I was told this was a true search by a different Superintendent. If this hire is anywhere close to the rumor mill forecast --it will shake up the Cameron ISD as well as other Central Texas schools. It will put the athletes and parents on notice that things are going to be done differently at Yoe. Good luck Coach!
  3. Yoe fans tell me there were a lot of good candidates whom applied, which has made the superintendent happy. If it goes the way some fans think--- it may surprise folks in Cameron and in Central Tx. Hiring practices at Yoe are sometimes questionable, but with this group of applicants they should find a AD/HC that fits the Yoe athletes and the Cameron community. Best of luck to the Superintendent and the Coach who gets hired at Yoe--, the entire athletic program needs a reboot.

  6. I wish Coach Rhoades the best in his retirement. I guess we will see what happens when the vacancy is posted and the hire takes place. As I understand this is a true hiring process and all coaches are more than welcome to apply. I understand Jack may be the chosen one for some in the clique, but this Superintendent as I understand is not controlled by the clique and will do his due diligence to find the most qualified candidate for the Yoe vacancy. Whomever gets the Yoe HC/AD job should understand getting participation of student athletes back into a once elite program is a must. Good luck to all that apply. Tough district to be in, with super athletes and good coaches everywhere you look.
  7. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens when they post the vacancy. I believe it is a wide open search. Anything is possible in Cameron within the hiring process. The retirement is all over Rockdale KRXT radio station, so that blew the keep it low key until March. Cameron fans tell it like they would be shocked if Jack Rhoades gets the job. I believe Yoe is looking to clean house somewhat. If Rhoades stays in the field house until the end of February it may be a late posting for vacancy.
  8. Maybe if Fedora does not fill Navasota vacancy -----he will take a quick glance at the Yoe HC/AD vacancy. Rebuild from the ground floor. If he has some time on his hands.
  9. You are correct as you now. Accurate reporting. Wish Coach Rhoades and his staff luck in the remaining games. Tough season with injuries and a rugged sked along the way.
  10. Don't you mean how will the Robinson Rockets utilize their new weapon from Milam County Rhoades needs offensive and defensive linemen
  11. If he establishes residence in Cameron ISD this summer, he will not be eligible for varsity participation until the 2nd semester--is that correct?
  12. Question --did Tim Grice enroll at Yoe?
  13. A FOOTBALL COACHING LEGEND WILL RETIRE 2023-01-11 (LORENA) There is shocking news out of Lorena with the announcement their longtime football coach will retire. Lorena Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Ray Biles announced he will retire. He took over the Leopards program in 1992 and has been on board for 31 years, 207 wins, and a state championship in 2021. He took Lorena to the playoffs 17 times and won 9 district titles. Prior to coming to Lorena, Biles was an assistant at Katy High from 1980-1991. No announcement was made on who might take over the program.
  14. Kind of like Cameron going to be Cameron, when they hired Brashear for 5 years. Keep it inside the family. But at least Hamrick has been a AD and Head coach. Only time will tell if it is the right hire. Good luck Coach Hamrick. Figure out a way to get the ball to Tim Grice as much as you can.
