  1. I do like what is being done on the girl's side of basketball. Anderson was a good hire in my opinion.
  2. Another one with the inside information. It's crazy what you can find out in the smoakhouse!
  3. His coaching style seems to be different from what Frankston has seen in the past and could work over time. I would be more concerned with his inability to buy into the athletic program. If what I have heard is true then most of us would have been fired already for insubordination. I think the football team was better than expected this year. Owens had way more talent last year and couldn't get them into the playoffs. If Frankston has to choose between the basketball coach and the AD, my opinion would be to keep the AD/HFC.
  4. You don't think that football exceeded expectations this last year? I agree that the AD needs to be involved in the community and accessible for people in the town. But being in the Sunday School class at church doesn't make you a good coach. Frankston has historically been a place that runs off good coaches because little dribbler dads or pop warner football dads think they know what it takes to win games especially if it's a home town coach.
  5. I would not put all the blame on the coach but he gets a lot of it. Loper did not coach football but understood how a small school works and even more so after giving up his AD job just to be the basketball coach. I have heard Bates does good things with the kids but you can't fight the rest of the athletic department and think you are going to stay at a school like Frankston. Because you know who else has built a lot of relationships with these kids, the AD.
  6. There is some potential in the next few years. I have heard this new coach only cares about basketball and that's not good for the athletic program. In a small school kids play all sports. Never an excuse for a kid to quit a sport either. If they quit on one sport they will quit on them all.
  7. There is some young talent that will get better. 3 sophomores are good ball players but still a little green.
  8. All boys sports will be down after this year. That senior group has been the better players over the last 3 years. There is some young talent but nothing like the big man that's going to A&M.
  9. I saw this coming. So not only do they need to replace Loper but an AD/Head football coach.
