  1. I regret not going to this game. I've respected Carthage since we met up at the Star and went into triple over time. When we finally lost, our boys were crying, and those Carthage players consoled our players. When you play at the high level of competition like These boys are playing you can't help but have respect for both teams. Way to go Cougs!! Lets take it to state!!
  2. The curse of 2020 strikes again I was rooting for Mart, they are a neighboring town. But I'm happy for those Windthorst boys. I didn't get to watch the game. Hopefully they post them so we can rewatch them. I already heard this was a great game to watch.
  3. Came on here looking for a Crawford vs Post thread but didn't find one. I'm hoping for a Shiner vs Crawford game at jerryworld
  4. Yes. I noticed a few of our players attitudes. Last night I know they weren't happy about some of the calls. But even last week against Sealy I noticed some attitude. That wouldn't have been the case a couple of years ago. Big Bell has built a great program I'm super proud to say my son got to play for him. I'm sure it'll take Young Bell a little while to find his footing. I'll have a freshman in cougar football next year. Hopefully we can make another good run while he's coming up. Brayden Faulkner #11 is a Junior he'll be back next year. Other than Brayden I don't know anyone else who is staying. I think alot of those boys are graduating.
  5. I agree. We have a young coaching staff now. I'm thankful my son was able to be coached under Old Bell. We've been out of the football loop for a couple of years, we just started watching again this year because of the playoff run. It's just different. Our team doesn't seem as disciplined as it used to be. Maybe I'm just living in the past . I don't think we've EVER lost a game like that. I think it was eye opening for everyone. I went in knowing this was probably going to be the last game. But I didn't know we were going to have our *ss*so handed to us on a silver platter.
  6. That was brutal. Great win. Good luck on y'alls way to state.
  7. Haha. Hey I hope you are right. Love those Cougs. They've definitely made something out of a nothing. I'll be ecstatic if they pull off a win. Stranger things have happened.
  8. Here a few pics from that 2016 game. I know one of these plays is the score winning play. 4 years and I'm still salty over this game lol. Gosh dang it, Carthage gave us every chance to win, and we just couldn't capitalize on those turn overs. Our defense fought hard that day.
  9. I'd have to agree that Carthage is in my top 2 games. Our win against LaVega in the game before Carthage has to be my top pick. We beat LaVega on there 35+ winning streak. I think they were projected to win state again that year.
  10. I know! I'm really happy and excited for all these boys. It's a great feeling to still be playing football after Thanksgiving.
  11. We watched that 2016 game on youtube this week, and even though I knew the outcome it was just as exciting. We rooted for Carthage in the state game through our tears.
  12. Of course I'm hoping for a China Spring victory tonight. My son (#14) played in the 2016 semi final game against Carthage, so we want redemption. My honest opinion of this CS team is, we aren't packed with big play makers like we were in 2016. But this team has a lot of heart and they've made it work. They've accomplished what no one thought they could. There isn't a lot of pressure on them right now, because we aren't supposed to be here. Carthage is a tough team no doubt. If we lose...….. we weren't even supposed to get past our first play off game. So we are proud of our cougars win or lose. But Carthage has a lot riding on this game. They are under a lot of pressure to win. Nobody wants to get beat by the underdog. One thing I know about High School football is anything can happen. I suspect tonight will be a good game. I'll be on the cougar side cheering them on win or lose.
  13. I'm a proud momma. Even if they are looking at the ball, i say they are looking at that awesome hit. Kuddos to the qb for getting the ball thrown mid air. It's just one of my all time favorite photo's wanted to share since it was against Carthage. We don't meet up that often.
