  1. This is true, may be jumping the gun, but Roq is always the first QB to come in during mop up duty.
  2. So do y’all think our offense will just be a carbon copy of what we’ve seen the last two years or will we throw in a few designed QB runs per game and we should expect to see J-Roq in some rollouts and RPO’s or where he drops back and takes off much much more often than Horton did? I think we’ll see all of those things and like one of our Gilmer friends stated a page ago it adds another dimension for defenses to have to plan for and defend during the game.
  3. @regaleagle, congratulations on Argyle’s state championship victory.
  4. I hope you’re right, and just hope we don’t have to rely too much on Roq’s legs because his passing isn’t up to snuff. Not saying his passing won’t be adequate just being cautious.
  5. I do. I think the offense will be a quality unit and the QB will have different capabilities than many Bulldog quarterbacks of the Surratt Era. I just feel like the offense without Horton and Courtney is liable to take a step back next year, and that may be ok, because the defense will be there to help tote the load and win games.
  6. Some Carthage posters here on SDC have stated the defense will be better next year. If it is it makes me think we could be in for a little different style football out of the Bulldogs next season.
  7. They are, I do love for my Bulldogs to win state though!!
  8. Thanks, and we can give credit to Gilmer for starting the game with their hair on fire and bringing the fight to Carthage! Y’all had the Dawg defense on their heals for a few minutes and NO ONE has done that all year. it was a great season for the Buckeyes and y’all can say the only team you lost to were the champs.
  9. I agree Metzel did right by coming out guns blazing. I also agree it sends a message to your team you know you’re outmanned, but I mean, they had already been beaten 42-14 by the same team earlier in the year. So, they knew it was going to be difficult. Now, the high stepping down the sideline and such probably not very wise just like saying in the pep rally Gilmer is going to rock Carthage’s world. Not wise. GHS did rock our world for about five minutes of game time and we must give them credit for that. Gilmer does have good players too, there’s no doubt about that.
  10. Carthage could’ve scored 98 if they wanted to and this dude claiming Surratt and the Bulldogs ran up the score. Silly. Surratt let the Dawgs loose for three quarters and then leashed them again. This guy should be glad they were leashed as soon as they were!
  11. I am excited to see what our offense will look like with some “new” faces in very key positions. Roquemore isn’t a new face, but he’ll be a new starter. So glad Wade and Hatten return. Dang near the entire defense, good Lord we praise you!! HA!
  12. DUDE, he took the starters out with 11 minutes left in the game and they’d already begun to run the ball heavily (almost exclusively) when they were scoring their last three or four touchdowns.
  13. Just like one of our guys predicted Carthage would beat Gilmer by 14 knowing full well in the back of his mind it’d most likely be at least double that margin of victory. Argyle is really good, but their receivers would have a very hard time creating any separation from our DB’s and that CHS front seven would shut down the AHS rushing attack. They’d also get plenty of heat on Rogers logging multiple sacks throughout the game. I truly don’t think it’d be close.
  14. Oh my gosh! These things are true, but Argyle did do the job they were required to do this year to win state. Argyle is a very good team.
  15. Dude, Argyle is gonna Argyle a little bit. They just can’t help it. Carthage put up a gentle 70 yesterday, as in they weren’t running trick plays up 42-14 or even passing the ball after it got to 49. The 55th & 56th points were scored off a long Courtney TD run.
