  1. We’re undefeated at The Star by the hair of our chinny chin chin. But, undefeated nonetheless.
  2. Well, the Lobos underperform often. I would definitely take a chance on a new regime.
  3. JF, we will have to respectfully agree to disagree on this topic. I do believe Traylor and Surratt would both dominate in 5A and 6A.
  4. I don’t know what else he needs to do for people to understand he would win at any level. For years people said he and Traylor couldn’t win at higher levels. Now Traylor is making millions at UTSA and just interviewed for the A&M job AND Traylor beat Surratt what, once, with one of our sorriest teams in the Surratt Era? Surratt > Traylor every day of the week and Traylor is now doing very well in college.
  5. I don’t think so, King would find a way to squander it away. Y’all need a change, but who do you get?
  6. Yep, it’s not even close. If Lobos have had SS this whole time you’d be the ones with nine state championships. King is easily the most talent wasting coach in East Texas. Glad Longview fans are finally admitting what we’ve been saying for years. The worst thing was Lobo fans holding to the opinion Surratt couldn’t win in 5A / 6A simply because he coaches in 4A, talk about a horrible and just ignorant opinion. I believe folks just didn’t know how talented he and Preston both are.
  7. Yeah, yesterday we were apparently playing the most talent laden team in the state and now it sounds like Gilmer is right behind them in speed and we’re not nearly as fast. Uggh Jett did not play his best game yesterday, but he has way plenty of talent and can get the ball to our receivers, who also played poorly yesterday. Carthage played nowhere near to its potential yesterday.
  8. So, my take on the game yesterday starts with PG has a talented group, and so does Carthage. Any talk of Carthage having way less talent this year than in years past is a bit overblown. Carthage is young is some places, but it didn’t keep us from winning. Game thoughts: We played very flat all first half and made mistakes throughout the game. All in all we won very ugly yesterday, but found a way. There were also multiple no calls for pass interference against PG where the refs just let it go, blatant. The very last play of the game our LB was held and then we interfered with Jackson trying to catch the ball, no flags on either end. One of those touchdowns in the first half for PG, massive hold against their OL that sprung the runner free, no call. PG fans should be rejoicing there were so few flags thrown against them instead of whining about officials. Ultimately, we were fortunate to win yesterday, because we didn’t play well at all and PG refused to use all of their players, instead relying on the QB all the time. Carthage did however turn it on in the second half, especially on defense. The cream rose to the top. You could see and feel the momentum shift when we scored our third TD and were still down 28-21. You knew it was coming, the Dawgs had finally arrived.
  9. They were showing Carthage players, coaches and fans how tough they are.
  10. Yep, if you’re Gilmer you want anyone remotely associated with the program to be silent until the game starts. Some folks just aren’t wise enough to know how to act and only want to rah rah the team all the time, which is not intelligent.
  11. Benny is our little hammer and I enjoy seeing him in the game. Benny is stronger between the tackles, but Edwards is a game changer. Benny can be too just not nearly as electric or home run threat on every play like KJ.
  12. Well, not necessarily. PG was most likely our toughest test this season. We shall see.
  13. 100%. Those Bulldogs are so much fun to watch and the never quit attitude is a great example.
  14. The answer to the question/title of this thread is no.
  15. PG has hit some huge plays on us, and played pretty dang well on defense. We’ll see if those Bulldogs can get some adjustments.
  16. We won’t be upset with you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Glad you’re pulling for the Dawgs!
  17. Just added up the opponents’ records for both teams and they’re pretty close. Carthage seems to have played a slightly tougher schedule, but definitely with Kilgore at 11-1 as the best team either CHS or PG have played this year. PG’s opponents’ combined record is 60-70. Carthage opponents’ combined record is 68-62.
