  1. Mineola loses to Alpine 4-3 in 8 innings.
  2. Needing players 18 years and older for a womens fastpitch league at Faulkner Park-Tyler, TX. Double headers on sunday afternoon. League play will start in about 3 weeks. There is about 30 women signed now, need at least 10 more. Whole teams or individuals. College, excollege or just out of highschool and still want to play. For more info contact Kristen Henton [[email protected]]
  3. The best part of this time of the year is Rankings and polls don't mean squat. Brag about poll all you want, but if you don't win its over. I will be very surprised if this does not go 3 games. Its all about pitching and both teams have a very good one.
  4. I forgot about Kayla she did not get a release from TWU Coach so HSU red shirted her for this year. She will have two more years to play.
  5. Arkansas Colleges recruiting heavy in East Texas. This is a list of girls from just the GAC NCAA DII conference Arkansas schools. I wanted to recognize all these girls, most are major contributors on their teams. They are all competing in the same conferance. If I missed someone please let me know. Arkansas Tech Chandler Touchstone, Hooks Maurie Lewis, Sulphur Springs Henderson State Amber Wilburn, Harmony Sarah Gipson, Grand Saline Hali Kizer, Lindale Ouachita Baptist Rayn House, Paris North Lamar University Arkansas Monticello Kayla Jackson, Hallsville Taylor Russell, Whitehouse Meagan Wilson, Longview Pine Tree Brittney Eitel, Hallsville Summer Huddleston, Quitman Sara Matthews, Hallsville Southern Arkansas Brittney Blake, Tyler Brittney Wood, Ben Wheeler Van HS Taelor Wheeler, Grand Saline Candice Collier, Mt Pleasant Chappell Hill Jessica Barbee, Terrell Ashlyn Rybiski, Texarkana Texas High Courtney Johnson, Alba-Golden Chelsey Moore, Brownsboro Van HS Mackenzie Spanko, Alba-Golden
  6. It was a former student and player not a former coach.
  7. Who is new coach at Grand Saline? I heard they hired someone from Lindale.
  8. Van hired Coach Hamm. Coached at Canton and Wills Point. Good coach. Mature and alot of experiance. Should be a good fit.
  9. I am going to speak for the other 99.9% of the Grand Saline, Hooks, and Central Heights parents and fans. Let it go! Every town has those 2 or 3 parents that is a pain in everyone’s butt. Please don’t let these parents for all of the schools mention tarnish the schools honor. CH parents you have a very good team. You don't have to come on here taunting. Let your girls do the talking on the field. Grand Saline parents we lost show a little dignity. I wish things would have ended different but it didn’t. I think the whole year would have been more pleasant if our parents would have stayed off this forum with negative posts and left everything up to the girls and coach. Good luck to both teams Saturday and do our region proud. Go win state.
  10. Huddleston is graduating. Stanley is a junior and will do good next year. They are loosing 5 Seniors but will have a good pitching and catching combo next year.
  11. Grand Saline Coach Paul Trent is in his 17th year and has just decided to hang it up. What a great carrier. He has been in the play-offs 16 of 17 years and final four in Austin 3 times. This program will miss him dearly. Both of these programs would be a great inheritance. Mineola is young and Grand Saline is building a million dollar new softball complex.
  12. Grand Saline pitcher is not going to college. GS 1st baseman sighned with Henderson State.
  13. Where and When for Grand Saline and Hooks. This is a rematch from Semi-Finals from last year. Should be a good match up.
  14. Luckly this call did not hurt the out come of this game but it could have been huge. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Grand Saline player hits a shot down third base side that goes over fence, field umpire turns back to ball to watch base runners and home plate umpire makes call that ball was faul. The sun was setting over left field fence and umpire said he could not see the ball so it was foul. Everyone except for umpires could see it was a 3 run homer. Is this the right call or should the umpires got together and changed it? At the time it was 3-2 Grand Saline ahead and the final score was 4-2. Just wanting a little feed back.
