  1. Several people, including some of my family, believe his is phony. I don't, I just think he is a great businessman and very intelligent. You don't have to be an uneducated redneck to drive a race car.
  2. She should sell the number if he wants it. I like JR but he is overrated. He honestly hasn't won a lot but he's a great guy and people loved his dad. It will be interesting over the next few years to see who made the best move.
  3. Durant needs to get stronger and everyone knows that. He will play the 3 in the NBA so strength isn't that big of factor...ask Vince, Kobe, McGrady, etc. He was the best player in college basketball last year...so now that he can't lift much weight...does that mean we were imagining him dominating everyone? All this testing of this stuff in football and basketball is a joke. Charles Barkley was 6'5 and slow...but he was great. Dennis Rodman was 6'7 and thin...but he was great. There were no legitimate questions up there...another possible question-he will not drop in the draft...another question-he made the right decision to make MILLIONS!
  4. I think this was for 3A and Sulpher Springs is a pretty good sized 4A unless things have changed. However, both were great high school, college and hopefully becoming good pro players. Not sure about the Manual Johnson recommendation. Yes, he was a stud in high school but he is OU's 3rd or 4th receiver. Hopefully he will get more opportunities this year so to move up in that order.
  5. Gibson had a solid rookie year...played in 60 games, started 16, averaged 4.6 point, 1.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists He is a 6'2 shooting guard who didn't dominate his sophomore year which is why he didn't get drafted in the first round. He deferred too much to Tucker and Aldridge and I, along with the NBA, thought he would struggle for several years until he was a very productive player. I was wrong. He has always had the talent but not the aggressiveness or maybe leadership to be a big-time player. He made himself millions last night.
  6. I would punish through severe conditioning, community service (in addition to what he will get through the courts), alcohol awareness training and a couple of games. Think how many other Longhorn students probably got a DWI that same night? Nothing will happen to them except whatever the court says...no suspension from school, etc.
  7. I agree. We would all love the opportunity to play in the NFL, make tons of money to help our families and our communities and guys like him just throw it away. It's ashamed.
  8. If he doesn't make it in the NFL, I'm sure some arena teams would love to have his talent. This is a great example of...take care of your grades, don't smoke weed, and make millions.
  9. He's played longer than nearly everyone on that list so it makes sense he would be at the top. Has he done the juice...I'm sure he has but he's never been caught...but he had 3 MVP's when he was 210 and not 235.
  10. I'm a Longhorn fan but this doesn't make sense...Kevnasty...you said A&M can't win a game when it counts...the Texas & Texas A&M game counted last year when they beat us. All games count, especially rivalry games.
  11. So I guess Michael Jordan can't be considered great because he didn't play against Bill Russell or Wilt Chamberlain? Peyton Manning's not good because he didn't play against Lawrence Taylor? I understand that logic completely... Some of my friends hate Gordon because they say he is a sell out and only talks about his sponsors...and Jr. doesn't talk about Bud or Stewart talk about Home Depot, etc. Their jobs are to drive and promote their sponsors and they all do it. Gordon is well spoken and clean cut so I guess that rubs some people the wrong way.
  12. I like the Horns better than the Aggies but I want A&M to be successful and win every game except against Texas. I thought Fran was a great hire but I'm doubting myself now. He might turn out that way. This season is very important for him so we'll just have to see how it goes. I think A&M could be good with so many returning starters. Who cares except for the players whether they get drafted or not anyway? I would rather have Chris Leak than won a championship than Beck or Edwards that didn't win anything. Size is way overrated in the NFL.
  13. Baldwin is a loser and always has been. I believe that even before he exploded on his daughter. Some of the people that live in "glass houses" on here are also losers. I'm sure those people have been angry and cussed or yelled at their parents, siblings, friends, etc...if they have and they haven't turned themselves in to be hung or shot at midnight...shame on them and also for all you people that have ever flipped off someone while driving...and you are still alive...that's very troubling. I'm just so thankful I'm perfect and have never done anything wrong in my life! I can't wait until football season so we'll have other things to talk about...
  14. He played his cards right and now has a good job. Good for him. This is actually pretty common...an AAU coach or high school coach gets a job probably a little out of their qualifications because of a great player. I remember him at TJC and he was a great player. I hope he has a lot of success at A&M.
  15. That's good for him. It's too bad he wasn't able to get his release from Tech so to play at Texas. Either way, I here he's a good guy so I hope he is successful.
