  2. They are not taking pictures until Tuesday, so it will probably be the following weekend before it is published.

    All-Region

No one is trying to devalue anything, just explain why some people or schools had players on the list while others didn't. Get whatever you can for your kids. It is awesome that they will have that memory, but I am just explaining why it happens.

    All-Region

First, this post concerns All-Region and not All-District. In addition, your post and baseball's post comment on the Eustace girl receiving All-Region, not All-District. But if you need clarification on what happened at the district meeting, I can also help you understand why your daughter didn't receive the superlative you may feel she deserved. If you have any questions that you want to ask, message me and I will do my best.

    All-Region

If you would have read my earlier post, you could stop throwing out conspiracy theories and realize that there were only six defenders nominated in the region. There are a total of eight defender positions available. Therefore, the player from Eustace was an automatic All-Region selection, just like the other defenders. They all received the same number of votes. No taking sides or anything else.

    All-Region

This is a paste of a post from the East Texas All-State post. Hope it helps explain why some people get recognition and others don't. Here is the breakdown for Region 2 - Girls 4A and the Region 2 - Boys 4A There are 69 girls teams in the region and 72 boys teams. This allows for 207 possible nominations for the girls and 216 for the boys if all coaches are members of TASCO and submit three players for the All-Region/All-State Team. Unfortunately not everyone is a member, or they do not submit/vote for players. For the 2009 season, the Region 2-4A girls ballot includes the following nominations: 6 Defenders 10 Forwards 13 Midfielders 4 Goalkeepers and the boys: 7 Defenders 10 Forwards 4 Goalkeepers 14 Midfielders Those who vote MUST select: 8 Defenders 8 Forwards 8 Midfielders 4 Goalkeepers Therefore, all of the defenders and goalkeepers will be at least all-region. The players who receive the top two number of votes are chosen for All-State. Since all of these players will all receive the same number of votes, the All-State title will go to the player whose team advanced the farthest in the playoffs. Of the 69 schools that have girls soccer, only 14 schools nominated players. Of the fourteen programs, seven schools nominated the maximum of three players, five schools nominated two players and two schools nominated one. Of the 72 schools that have boys soccer, only 13 schools nominated players. Eleven of the schools nominated the maximum of three players, with the other two only nominating one each.

  8. Which of the two Co-Newcomers lettered last year?
  9. The 31 4A All-District List for both boys and girls have been uploaded and attached. District_31_4A_Boys_Results_all_district_Newspaper.doc District_31_4A_Girls_Results_all_district_Newspaper.doc
  10. All-district meeting was held on April 14th. The list was sent to the Tyler Paper on the 16th, but hasn't been published yet.
  11. Probably monitoring the weather from the fieldhouse. Making sure the storms didn't endanger the kids on the field. If everyone was so offended, then why didn't you do something or say something. This can't be the first sporting event you have been to where something like this happened. It happens everywhere. Maybe if we took the initiative as a group and let people like this know that their behavior isn't acceptable, then our little slice of the world would be better off. Instead we just sit there and say nothing, then gripe about it. What else do we turn a blind eye to. Why didn't the official do something about it? Why didn't the coach? Why didn't the administrators? Why didn't the staff from Pine Tree (hosting the event)? Next time, either do something about it yourself if you are so offended. Take a stand for our ethics, morals, and values. Don't say it's not your job. Stop blaming someone else and do something about it.
  12. It was a great match last night. And from the Lindale side, apologies for the "bandwagon". Anyone who follows sports knows that the crowd gets bigger as the rounds go deeper. The incident in question was noted by the administrators on duty and will hopefully be handled. I guess if we had an idiot screener at the gate we could keep them from buying a ticket. Anyway, great job by both sides last night.
  13. Should be a good game. Both teams won their district, and Mt. Pleasant beat Lindale earlier in the year 3-1 (Longview Tournament). Both teams will do their best. Hope for decent weather and a clean, fair match.
  14. Called the Tyler Paper and they reported that Whitehouse won in a shootout. No other details.
  15. Any news on Longview scores?
