I wouldn't say beat up but if you can 'win' a scrimmage they did and clearly looked like a better team than Grapevine. There was no controlled varsity scrimmage. The 1s played 2 live quarters and Melissa led 17-10 after that, then the 2s played a quarter and a half with Melissa outscoring GVine 14-7 so guess a 31-17 tally in 3 and a half quarters. when the 1s were in for Melissa they used 2 QBs and both looked decent but most of their passes were deep balls...very little screens or medium throws. Melissa's OL is huge and the Cardinal D looked solid overall.

It is true. Walker is in a photo running the ball for Gunter in a intra-squad scrimmage. I’m sure if he is there his brother is too.

I picked one up at Kroger in NW McKinney (380 & Lake Forest) @ 5PM today.

Thanks regal, The 1st 2 weeks will be tough, at Argyle and China Spring. Argyle almost impossible place to win and Eagles will have revenge on their mind. China Spring just added good QB transfer from Wimberly. Melissa will be very good in th trenches this year so these games will be a war. If Cards play like they did early last year will start 0-2 again.

Skull Drug...really...LOL. Were you at that game? I was...It was 35-35 with 2 min left in 3rd q and 45-35 with 3 min left in game. I'd hardly call that skull drug. Memorial scored it's final 6 points on a pick-six with 30 sec left. Melissa was very very young and inexperienced starting a couple freshman, think the yardage was almost equal but turned the ball over on their side of the field 2 times and had 2 turnovers on downs on their side of the field.. also gave up a long KO return for TD. Memorial started 4-1 and had a very talented QB who got hurt on 1st drive of game against Denison and season was done. Memorial never won another game. If QB stays healthy IMO they were a playoff team.

Sinton up 6-0.. top of 3rd. After seeing how they destroyed Celina yesterday thought could be tough night for Argyle.

Those plays were both ESPN top 10 type plays. I lived in Flower Mound back in 2014 time frame and Lipsey’s plays reminded me a lot of the Flo Mo CF Connor Wanhanen state 5A championship game MVP who also went on to play at TCU.

Congrats to Spring Hill. Their bats were kinda blah last night but the defense minus the RF as well as the pitching was top notch. Melissa made a ton of mistakes and SH capitalized big time..and that’s what really good teams do. The regional final Celina vs Spring should be a great one between 2 3-loss teams.

But I’m picking Celina to win the whole deal and they’re not ranked #1..LOL. And it pains me to pick them as they may be my least favorite school ever.

Spring Hill is favored over Melissa but the Cards will put up a fight. Thinking SH has more pitching depth. Melissa has a solid #1 but #2 is a freshman lefty who has decent stuff but very young. Not much after that besides a D1 football recruit that on the mound throws hard but likely only good for a couple innings. The Cards have won 14 of last 15 games with only loss to Celina in a game they trailed 1-0 entering 6th inn. Offensively Melissa has 1 really big bat in their 3rd baseman, but they’re very aggressive running the bases and have successfully stolen home at least 2 times in the playoffs.

That’s precisely what I’m thinking. Melissa vs SH and LE vs Celina in region semis..then Celina vs SH for region.

PG getting knocked out in the 1st round a shocker but good consistent pitching usually the difference, especially in HS ball. I think Celina takes R2. But I thought the same last year until Wax Life knocked very surprisingly them out in the 2nd round. They play again this week so redemption time for Celina. The Bobcats have 3 stud pitchers and some serious firepower at the plate. The lefty pitcher is really nasty and has a sub 1.00 ERA. Just don’t see them losing a 3 game series.

Would be easy to say LBJ overrated but don’t think they really are. Just had fumbleitis & SVille D is really good. Their LB play is insane.

LBJ has opted up. They will in 5A-D2. That move really makes no sense to me but guess Austin ISD wanted them 5A. About this LBJ-SVille game .. my gut just tells me LBJ wins in shootout. Something like 46-42

I think many saw that Anna beat Hirschi and wrote the Huskies off. But that was very early in the season and clearly the Huskies improved. Hirschi plays 2 more seasons then closes down. Perhaps using that as motivation and playing with chip on shoulder.

My first time in this stadium. Incredible facility. So far this game VERY similar to Stephenville-Melissa game last week

But these are some darn fine reads...Now that my team Melissa choked and lost and this Celina/Gilmer game 30 minutes from the house..I think I'm gonna have to be there in person.
