Argyle has a new OC but is returning a bunch of offensive weapons. Stephenville is returning an number of defensive players, and pretty good running back but the QB position is a bit of a question mark. It the first game of the season anything can happen. I say Stephenville in a close one but would be surprised if it went the other way.

I know most of you guys don't venture west of Interstate 45, but what are your thoughts on this game?

The next few week will be a test for both Argyle and La Vega including a head to head match up week 2 . Both have very tough pre-district schedules and if they can make it through the season without getting to dinged up hopefully we will see each other in the regional final. La Vega is going to need to get help from underclassmen to increase depth. We will see in week 2 if La Vega has what it takes this year.

Last year in the playoffs Canyon Lake trailed LV in the playoffs, and when push came to shove and they had to throw the ball, Canyon Lake hard time stringing any thing together.

Defense has to play assignment football. La Vega played Liberty hill twice and Canyon Lake once holding both teams to well under there average.

I think one of the hardest thing for a slot-T team to do is come from behind, Especially if the get down a couple of TD

That was a great game Carthage was ready to play. The early turnovers early didn't help either. Give credit to Carthage they played a great game. Other then the missed holding call on the screen play after the clipping call, I would say it was called pretty even. Keontay was the best player on the field. Glad he a senior. I'm ready for a few more rematches. I heard at the game the LV freshman were 10-0 and gave up 10 points all season. I was just wondering. Why none of you are talking about the 400 yard you gave up on the ground. To a team that was trialing you the entire game. (By the way it wasn't silence it's just that the smoaky form isn't the first responsibility in my life)

I know stats are stats but a few on the LV defense. They give up about 200 yards per game. 125 on the ground and 75 threw the air.

yeah I heard LV is getting out at 1:00 too. I will be leaving the Waco area about 3:30.

I was mainly talking about those that think Carthage is going to walk all over LV. Those picking Carthage by more then 10. 90% haven't seen more then just highlights of this LV team. In my honest opinion they are closer then most people on here think.

No problem, I enjoyed it. Hope you guys are eating crow later but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Carthage wins.

11 hrs till the best 4A team in the state takes the field. Can't wait to see who that is.

Probably the first time in 3 years.

I re-watched last years game between Carthage and CS, The Carthage coaches made some good adjustments in the second half. But Carthage had the football gods on their side with two missed FG's. The one in the 3rd and the one in overtime, classic game. CS didn't help themselves out by trying to eat the clock. I'll give you credit you did what you had to win but by no means was that a great performance. Either team could of won that game.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion as wrong as they maybe, sometime you just want to see more then really there. Like me I think Carthage may have a hard time moving the ball consistently Friday night. but other then a select few realist, they think LV is going to give 4 to 5 times their season average.
