Their running game is based off of their passing game it a numbers game for Argyle. Stack the box they will throw the ball, drop back and cover and they will run it down your throat. It a Art Bryles Baylor type offense. From what I have seen neither of these teams have much of a defense this year though Argyles D came up with a few timely stops against La Vega. Weather will be a factor for both teams (weather edge I give to Melissa). Wish I could come watch this one. If it rains during the game, this one is a push, no rain Argyle by 10. But what do I know.

Argyle is no joke. They have lots of weapons and a really good offensive system. There were a few plays that could of turned that game in LV favor but that's football, and you have to get stops and we were unable to do that in the first half. Hoping for a rematch, both teams will have a tough road to get there though.

I thought they only scored 6 against LV.

I was just on La Vega's Max Prep Schedule they have the Pirates scheduled to play Carthage on 12/21 at 11:30.

Never said they didn't play great defense. Only giving up 32 points is great over 6 games is pretty darn good.

Brownwood 6-0 against teams with a 12-20 Record combined. The only team that has a winning record is Brock and Brownwood won that game 10-0.

I'm pretty sure La Vega went into the playoff #4 last year. We all know how that turned out.

Argyle will most likely have to beat La Vega again for that to happen.

This is going to be a great tread as the season progresses.

I have no idea how many will be suspended, but I know there will be suspensions. Yes this LV open week, but they will be suspended for the next game against Stephenville.

So what was your take one how the fight might of got started? By the way I think some of you sarcasm dropped on my shoe when I read your post. Lol.

LE had 3 personal fouls in the game LV had 0 LE started getting chippy after the score was 14-0. LV had 8 players that had to come off the field because their helmet magically fell off. The coaches for LE had zero control of their team. Why would LV start the fight they were already having their way with LE and the starters for LV were on the side lines during the play, that just doesn't make any sense for LV to start the fight. I'm sure it being LE homecoming didnt help either.

Texas stadium in Irvin? It has a hole in the roof. AT&T stadium wasn't an option that week for any team that week, the Star is almost a home game for Argyle compared to the 2 and a half hours it is from Waco to the Star. We could of played at Mclane which would of been much more protected from the wind but why would Rogers want to give us a home game same reason we didn't want to play at the Star. +1000

Good teams win despite the conditions. I don't hear many Carthage fans complaining about the weather in there loss to Liberty Hill. Yes they drop a few balls but they adapted and made it a game. As for any coach if he is a good coach he will play to his teams strength. Like you said had Argyle won the toss they would of played indoors which would of been better for their team. Better hope you don't lose the toss again.

All the time? With 12 seconds left in the game Argyle had 1st and goal could of taken a knee against La Vega but choose to score. That the kind of thing that comes back to haunt teams.

This is no different then a parent settling down in Carthage, Allen, Argyle, Aledo, WOS or any other perennial power to give their son the best opportunity to play for a state championship and maybe be recruited to the next level. I would do the same to give my son the best opportunities in life.
