  1. Why has Bosqueville only played football since 1986?
  2. I had not read the article when I made the post above but now I’ve read it. He said what I think is true in small schools across the state: "It's just one of those things, that especially the small schools, you get waves of up and down, and we're in a down wave right now, and maybe it's time for me to look for something else and go a different route," Zander said. He’s been the head guy for 16 years. WOW. Looking at the last two seasons (3-7, 1-9) it appears they are riding one of those waves. In his 16-year tenure though he only has 4 losing seasons and has made the playoffs 14 years. Maybe it’s as simple as he needs a change. I am not familiar with Bosqueville history at all but with having a coach that long everyone there is moving into new territory in finding the next guy. Can be exciting, can be a little scary. I believe with Zander’s consistency, his record and longevity, and the support of the community whoever takes over will have something to build on. Wish y'all all the best! 3. I never thought of PNG as East Texas. Hope they win though! Enjoyed watching the spectacle of THE SHOW they put on before a snap was even played vs. the Jacksonville Indians (McCown show!) at Huntsville back in the day. Wow! The twirlers in their headdresses and the Indian dude who came out in the middle of the field before the game……FANTASTIC!! Oh, and Timpson .
  4. TIMPSON’S YEAR. They have been knocking on the door for the last 3. THIS. IS. IT. And I couldn’t be happier for them and their fans. We’ll talk about it next week during state championship week, but I can remember vividly when Alto won our first state championship after playing for one and being so close a few times before……Coach Gardner walked over to the Alto sideline after the game and held up the trophy and pointed to the fans that THIS WAS FOR US. We had been disappointed before, we had been supportive, we had been patient, and we had been close but HERE WE WERE. State Champs! And it didn’t matter how long we had waited. It happened. It was real! The exhilaration. THE RELIEF. The monkey was off our back. DANG. Timpson has been knocking on the door for years now. Time to kick it in and TAKE WHAT YOU’VE BEEN WORKING FOR. STATE CHAMPS. I’m claiming it for you……and I can’t wait!
