  1. From what you guys are saying it sounds like to me that Layne is the better option at QB. It will be interesting to hear how this second scrimmage goes this Friday.
  2. Did Cameron scrimmage last night? How'd they dri? What about the 2 QBs?
  3. pretty sure i heard that they ran off at least a few. don't recal hearing about any that went into retirement.
  4. Haven't they ran off several principles over the last couple of years there? At all three campuses. couple of guys at the primary school and a guy at both the elementary school and the high school.
  5. I haven't watched a lot of 7 on 7 over the years, but I do agree with your assertation of it being a glorified pick up game. Are you saying the Yoemen QBs didn't check down or that none of the QBs from any of the teams ever looked at a secondary route? If so, I could see that being due to the fact that I think they get 4 seconds from the time they snap the ball to get a throw off. However, if that is the case, then it could be "training" QBs to never look off their primary target. It is getting late in the summer. Having not qualified for the State 7 on 7 tournament I would think they need to really narrow it down to at least only two guys heading into the final week or two of 7 on 7 so they go into two-a-days with a two man battle.
  6. 88, Sounds like you watched both QB's play last night? Which one in your opinion was the better QB? And what other than just sight are you giving your opinion on? Leadership ability, decision making under stress, mobility, size, arm strength, completion percentage, completion percentage in different target areas, ability to read the defense, etc. are all things that I would think (hope) the coaches will be basing their decisions on. Just wondering if you got to watch them both play and if so what your opinions on those things were. Serious question, not trying to start any mess. Just curious as someone that might try and catch a game this year and wondering which one I might be seeing on the field if I do.
  7. "Rhoades only left Cameron was to increase his salary for his retirement. " This is only partly true from what I've heard. Have heard through the grapevine that the change in District leadership was maybe a bigger reason why. Or at least played a part in decision making.
  8. Playing 3 QBs really hinders the ability of the top 2 to improve. They need to get it down to 2 soon so they can really evaluate the top 2 IMO.
  9. Never met Coach Hedrick but I do know Mike and Little Joe. Both good guys and fine coaches as well.
  10. Took me a minute to understand what you said there. At first, I thought you were saying that the 2nd one had a better arm than the 6'4" QB that stood out, but then realized the JV kid you were talking about was a third QB. What classification will the two they used on the varsity be? Which QB started, the 6'4" one or the other one? DId one lead the team with more scores than the other one? Did they get to play with the same receiving corp or was one playing with a different (i.e. less talented) group of receivers? Why is it you think the one that stood out wouldn't get the nod come fall?
  11. Thanks for the information Lion Pride - So are those updates reflected on the Google Maps link I posted or has that been done since the Google photo was taken?
  12. Looking at Google Maps it appears you are correct that McGregor has quite a nice set up with the feild house and all in the end zone just like Franklin and it does appear that they have a larger seating capacity on the visitors side than Franklin does. However, Franklin appears to have seatbacks on the home side with possibly more home side seating altogether. https://www.google.com/maps/place/McGregor+High+School/@31.4282554,-97.4036932,277m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x864f8a8ff169d0b9:0xa16af02811b0f50a!8m2!3d31.4267841!4d-97.4049192 I'm still interested in how Rockdale is going to fit their new stadium into the area they have and if so when they are going to start.
  13. Talked to a friend from Cameron and the JV DBs were Thomas Melton, Calvin Stewart, Billy Collier, and Rigo Valdez. Don't know anything about any of those kids either but was wondering which one you were referring to?
