It’s going to be hard to watch it all come to an end, too early. This is a special group of young men. They didn’t deserve the hand that they were dealt, but they’ve handled it with dignity. Good luck to our boys on Friday. Go hard. Leave it all on the field. Enjoy every second. You make us proud. Go Jackets.

Looks like the Jackets are awake. And I’ll never pick against my guys.

Well, sure. Teams that you’ve beaten perpetually, enjoy kicking you while you’re down. We’re no stranger to it. It’s been an interesting ride for us the past few years to say the least. Last year was the first time in a while that things felt pretty normal. Then we graduated some highly talented seniors. 17 seniors to be exact. So we knew going into this season that there would be growing pains, and that it was going to be rough. (Not sure we knew exactly HOW rough ). We’re playing 9 sophomores. Sophomores who went 10-0 last year against kids their own age. So yeah. This year will sting (pun intended). But we’ll get through it, and pick up LOTS of experience as we do. Better watch for em in the coming years.

They don’t. And no one ever sees something that catastrophic coming. Our daughter plays a little tournament ball with some girls from Joaquin, and they were some of the first people to volunteer to come help. Just blessed that we’re all still here to do some good natured ribbing with you guys. Best of luck to both teams on Friday. (Just a little more for Alto)

Well, being a 90’s Alto Yellowjacket myself. The Groveton topic is something we can agree on. Lol!

Well, that’s all anyone can ask for, right? One game at a time....

That’s fair, I get it. I have my favorites too. (Though typically I can admit when a team that I’m not particularly crazy about is doing well again, even though I might be secretly disgusted. Ha!) I really don’t think it’s what you say, Gilbert, so much as how you say it. There are a lot of people on here that are admittedly not fans of Alto. Like one has pointed out before, it’s nice to finally get in a few punches on a team that beat everyone up for years. You are certainly welcome to your opinion, but as far as backing that opinion up with stats, or this season’s record...well, that’s all you’ve got. An opinion. Alto’s record this year and San Augustine’s don’t look too terribly differently. They just don’t. Whether you think we’re as good as we used to be or not...this team is undefeated. And they’ve earned that. I hope they get to play San Augustine, because that means they’ve advanced a couple more weeks. And that’s something to be proud of. As far as hanging with the Mighty Wolves, well, that remains to be seen. Any given Friday night....you have a nice day, sir.

Oh well that explains a lot. Joaquin already took care of that.
