  1. I was on a cruise ship that night. Was so bummed I was gonna miss the game. I think by the time I got big nasty on my phone it was like 42-0 for almost an hour and a half I couldn’t figure out why nobody was texting me score updates. Longview showed up looking like the 2000 St. Louis Rams offensively. Daddy King had to show up and put little Todd Quick in his place
  2. Unexpected win for Lufkin was on the road against A&M Consolidated. I guess heartbreaking loss would be down in McKinney against North when we let a 17 point 4th qtr lead slip away to knock us out of playoff contention. (Honorable mention for unexpected performance would be against Lancaster) had’em on the ropes all night long.
  3. Lufkin defeats Montgomery 47-38 to move to 18-1 on the season. Next up. New Caney tournament Dec. 27-28 Lufkin Lady Pack basketball was 9-7 on the season to best of my knowledge. Hard to find coverage on our girls.
  4. Lufkin survived an upset bid last night over Pine Tree 48-43. Lufkin was playing without freshmen star guard Austin Brown. Pack moves to 17-0 on the year.
  5. Lufkin Basketball wins the Hardin-Jefferson Tournament. Game 1.) 61-52 over Nederland Game 2.) 88-37 over Buna Game 3.) 54-46 over LCM Game 4.) 54-26 over Anahuac Game 5.) 61-52 over LaPorte Game 6.) (Championship) 45-33 over LCM Lufkin improves to 15-0 on the season. #8 in 5A. Next: vs 4A #3 Silsbee Tuesday in Lufkin.
  6. Longview fans troll? Literally haven’t seen that. There’s quite the difference in what you’ve been saying versus what they’ve been saying.
  7. Kinda hard to throw though when the O-line just lets the defense through that easily. That last series after the delay, he had tons of pressure. They were bombing aledo in that 2nd qtr with that deep pass. Then he kinda went away from it after that pass to go up 14-3. I would’ve kept airing that bad boy out lol
  8. Congrats to Aledo on the win and to Longview for a great season. I certainly didn’t expect this. When it was 14-3 at halftime, I called blowout. I’ve been calling Longview champs since august. I was wrong and this is why Aledo is elite. Both will be right back here next season and many more to come.
  9. That Aledo tight end not coming down with that one pass and knocking into the air for Longview to intercept was a killer. And that INT thrown by the QB under pressure. I’m assuming he thought he threw it somewhere nobody could get to it.
  10. Good half Lobos. Longview will blow this thing wideeee open in the 2nd half.
  11. If LoboFan07 is one of the blowout votes, there’s definitely a chance of that happening lol
  12. Idk man. I can kinda understand what you’re trying to say. But. If there were any big schools in East Texas that get “out coached” or lose even though they have the more talented team it would be Tyler and Lufkin. Not Longview. You ever wonder why Longview is the only big school in East Texas with the consistency they have? A lot of y’all forget, we don’t have the same advantages here in little ol East Texas that those DFW and houston schools have. We don’t have hundreds of thousands of people, schools popping up every other week, and certainly don’t have the economies to bring “random” talent into the school district to help us win games. Call it recruiting or whatever you want. We get very few of those around these parts. It’s not a yearly thing. Our teams are home grown. Longview is successful because of the coaching 100%. John King has built a program that those kids grow up wanting to play in. It’s a winning culture there. Have they won 5+ titles like some of the other successful programs? No.. Doesn’t mean they were out coached along the way. There might have been bad calls here and there. Everybody has those. Sometimes the other teams are a mistake better. It is what it is. Lufkin was better than most of the state from 1999-2007. We have 1 state championship to show for it. What happened a few years after that? Our coach unexpectedly died, and we fell off. Coaching is everything for us out here. Obviously you have to have talent as well, which Longview does. But John King gets the absolute most out of those Longview boys. Half of their teams the last 15 years probably wouldn’t have won a playoff game if they had Lufkins staff. He does the very best he can with what he has to work with. He’s done a fine job.
