  1. looks like i owe Kilgore an apology. well boys doubles that is. I knew that Smith could dominate, I was hoping that she would use that post as a motivator... which i can only hope she did. Anyways, good luck, to all who advanced, at regionals!
  2. haha.... well gavin i'd really like to see you in a patriots uniform, but i guess maybe we'll meet at ita's or during the season... good luck to you guys! go win state and rep for East Texas!
  3. aww... i miss high school tennis! lol. anyways... i know this is totally off the subject but... ybarra and rainer where are you guys going next fall? ybarra have you already signed?
  4. Great post VolleyDoll. As for highland park not impressed at all. They won't beat pearce in district team next year. I said it at regionals and i'm saying it now. I might even go watch that match, i'll be in Dallas next year. And i will rejoice, as HP will not win state next year!
  5. Well in Jacksonville, we are losing 7 seniors Boys: Robby Day Justin Hanna Gordon Ross Lance Taylor Girls: Kristin Bennett Rachel Weaver Marisol Landin The weak point will absolutely be the girls team. However Katy Day is beginning to prove herself as one of the top girls in the district. Amanda Bradshaw is undoubtebly the best 2 in the district. After that, it is still up in the air. On the other hand, the guys will be young but strong. Returning will be seniors: Boone Hugghins and Kyle Tinsley, juniors: Marcus Bennett, David Houser, Joesph Canter. but the biggest addition will be the four freshman boys all with much tournament experience. Champs John Day and John Becker along with Timmy Bennett and Dylan Hanna will join the team. If those last names sound familiar its because three are the younger brothers of Robby Day, Justin Hanna and Kristin Bennett and all have the same drive to rise to the top as those seniors did. Next year is really cloudy for the Tribe, it will all depend on freshman play and if the girls team can find the talent. They probably will fight for the second or third spot in the district.
  6. I wish them all the best. I used to live in Grand Saline and would have graduated with them this year. I never would have thought that they would have been this successful.
  7. wow that basically ended the purpose of this thread. lol. Thanks for clearing it up!
  8. burn:whome:. even though the text message generation isthe best generation... ever! haha that's another thread. But, this fall at regionals i evesdropped on the seeding meeting (what can i say, i was bored). It was very entertaining. I love how some coaches push around others, its just like politics.
  9. well actually its illegal to use USTA rankings at the...seeding meeting (which is my fav. phrase in all of h.s. tennis)... but i'm sure it plays some part. i didn't know that part about what coaches can vote? are you sure?
  10. honestly i just hope i don't play the district 10 team first. pearce and hp, solid. however i do think some region 2 events are weaker this year than in the past. there are many opportunities for kids in e. texas to go a couple rounds.

  12. Wow that is pretty big, but I bet that wherever the cutoff is Highland Park will STILL be one person short of 5A!
