  1. I think it defaults to Jermie Calhoun. It would be wierd to change it up after so many years of him getting it!
  2. Be careful about talking up all those injuries you have. If Van has Pennington and Kendrick this game is twice what is was on the scoreboard!
  3. I am not going to rip your comment like the rest of the guys, but i will say that the comment about his son is a little off base. He has to want his son to succeed, but i don't think he is catering to him at all. The kid is the best player on the team. That said, i do agree with your first statement, something is off when it comes to making adjustments. Everyone who plays Van can watch the SH film and learn how to slow Van way down.
  4. SH played really hard and Van had some turnovers, but the story to this game is that one team was badly outcoached. SH had several nice plays and Van did nothing on offense all night except give its defense a hole to scratch out of.
  5. Sold short? Top five in the nation is being sold short? OU wins big. the Whorns have some good athletes but OU has a head coach!
  6. I think 34 yards passing would have beeen a record for Van.
  7. After their first fall scrimmage, o-coordinator wilson was asked which players if any stood out or impressed him and the first comment out of his mouth was "Jermie Calhoun looked good out there, he had some good runs." Stoops was asked in an interview and he said he was impressive.
  8. Any coaching changes in Van this year?
  9. Everyone called the forward pass crazy too! With the way the rule reads, this offense can eliminate man to man coverage or the d is left one on one across the field. The running lanes are huge and a good qb can kill people with this O. That said wait 20 years when every player on D is 6'0 200lbs and running 4.3's to cover the spread and someone will come up with some new awesome O called the wishbone and run it down everyones throat. Go back 30 years and tell everyone at UT, OU, and Nebraska that the majority of there snaps for 2007 would be taken from the gun and see how many laugh at you!
  10. I said that about Gilmer's football team too, so I'll hold off on crowning them just yet and let them play the game.
  11. Not comparing the two backs, but Peterson's line was far better than what Calhoun ran behind at Van for four years!
  12. Nothing against G.J., but my grandmother would look good playing qb at gilmer.
  13. Good luck with that pic or video, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you! If you need some eye witness accounts your in luck, but pics are not so plentyful!
  14. This guy is so slow he only toasted Texas and everyone else for tds all last year!
  15. Sorry about all the trouble with the caps, I honestly had no idea that it was " a rule". I meant no disrespect towards smoaky.com or the message boards as i enjoy reading and chating as much as the next guy. It was my ignorance of the rules and of the term "flaming" that has gotten me in this pickle. I actually thought the first flaming remark was a negative comment toward me. I apologize to all the smoakheads that keep these boards running smoothly and appreciate the effort made on ya'lls behalf. So i will end this by saying i love lowercase! I still would love to see a big cat in ET.
