Ironic how some of the people that made the decision to spend that much on a football stadium have shown an inability to manage their own finances. Voting in fiscally irresponsible board members is how you get a boondoggle like this. Its a damn nice stadium I’ll grant you that but that nice was not necessary except to appease egos. That stadium will rarely if ever see 10,000 people it. Hell of a recruiting tool. Absolutely no reason not to win multiple championships now right?

Was he put out to pasture or did he ask to be reassigned and get out of the coaching grind? If its the latter, no shame in that. The % of coaches above 40 years old is pretty low and continues to diminish rapidly for every year of age over 40 in the high school ranks. Its hard to keep the fire and honestly you can make a heck of a lot more $ with much fewer hours outside of coaching if you have other marketable skills.

Well it confirms my suspicions that these “off brand” all-state teams are nothing more then a grift and pandering for subscriptions and memberships. They have little merit awarding the actual best players statewide.

How does that explain why they failed to nominate any players from two of the state championship teams in 5A and 6A? I’ve come to the conclusion that all these all state teams are nothing but propaganda for certain programs who play the politics correctly. The Padilla poll and this superelite team just prove it. Hopefully the Texas sportswriters doesn’t show the same favoritism.

Not a single South Oak Cliff player on the 5A team and not a single Duncanville player on the 6A team. What a absolute sham! They must have gotten consulting from Padilla or they hate Dallas County teams. Also “SuperElite” what a stupid name. Why not one or the other?

If that is your mindset you need to change occupations. Jeez what a terrible generalization. For that low % of kids that are lazy its pretty simple. No practice, no play. If you have to beg them to practice you are gonna have to beg them to play hard.

When I was in the coaching business I would send kids to teachers during athletic period in classes they were struggling to get their crap straight. It helps no one if a kid is ineligible and after all they are student/athletes 100% of the time and never athlete/students. I would sacrifice every win to get every kid excelling in the classroom. If that is not your goal then you are doing it wrong in my opinion. Kids get work hard if they risk losing what they want. Missing athletic period always got the point across.

Absolutely this. Padilla All State team is just nothing more then propaganda for the teams that follow him. Just look at how few schools are represented in his teams. I can’t even believe anyone would think Padilla has any credibility at all.

Definitely need to drop the HC. Typical meat head coach.

PNG looks like a discount Argyle to me. Think SOC will dominate. Some people think to dominate you have to win by three touchdowns but I think they dominate by holding them to 14 points or less and winning by 10. SOC by design doesn’t score tons of points. They are a ball control, grind you down offense. By 4th qrt PNG will be whipped just like all the other SOC opponents except MH to a degree.

I just knew Albany had “it”. Can’t define it but they had it. They just wanted it more and had that West Texas grit like all those West Texas teams out there had in the 70’s & 80’s. Its hard to live out there and it makes people tough but with good hearts. #5 didn’t get the recognition he deserved. He was the engine that made things go.

Youtube TV doesn’t carry Bally Sports. Anyone have any ideas how to view it if your provider doesn’t carry Bally Sports Southwest? I found a Bally sports app on my phone that I can get a 7-day free trial but can’t tell if they will be showing the game on the app. You would think if they bought the rights they would make it clear how to watch it.

Pulled up video one of the other playoff games in Choctaw. Even the camera is so far away it makes the players look like ants. Is it the home side or the visitor side that has the temporary stands that are just behind the players bench?

Yes was talking about the old stadium. Definitely looks like the stands, at least on one side, are a long ways away from the field. Trying to fit a round square peg into a round hole it seems.

How is that venue for high school football games? Looks like stands are pretty far from field. Any reviews anyone wants to share?

Where can one find total offensive and defensive stats for Texas high school football teams? Also individual stats such as receiving passing rushing etc.? Anyone have a website they can recommend?
