  1. He probably won't get any taller. He isn't a true sophomore either. He is old enough to be a Jr.
  2. Good luck to whoever it is! The days of having an abundance of 250 to 300lb linemen, and 4x100 track guys in the backfield are over with. They should have spread it out with several of those teams they have had over the past 20 years or so. My opinion, but I've watched the local small schools closely for a long time. Most of them have dropped way off or are dropping.
  3. He might try his hand at a big D1 program. I think he could get hired for big bucks. I bet his son plays golf in college and not football. You almost have to be big in stature to be a D1 pocket passer. 6 foot 2 and 220lb or better.
  4. I've said for 4 years now that Bussey would be a slot receiver at the next 2 levels. So far in the All Star game that's what he is doing. And he looks great.
  5. They won't be like they were from the early 90's until about 2017 or so any time soon. Probably never again. Like most small towns these days. People leave for various reasons and take a lot of the athletic genes with them. It was one heck of a run though! Football and basketball!
  6. I agree with a lot you said about how small towns come together in the face of adversity, but that could be said for America in general. Divided but willing to help out when tragedy or catastrophe shows up. I'm happy for Gilmer. Watched it from the front row 50 yard lline. It was a great game. One of the best from this years championships.
  7. #1 for Gilmer best individual performance I've witnessed in a while. I'm not sure about week in and week out but today he looked like the best back in 4a. He was definitely the X factor.
  8. Bellville ran about 3 plays outside the tackles. . Troll
  9. 1st half over and Bellville ran 2 plays outside the tackles. One a TD pass and an one an interception. . Edit. They scored again. Between the tackles.
  10. They aren't hard to stop at all if you have a decent defense. It's much harder to stop when the athletes are spread out. When they are stacked in tight 2/3rds of the defensive coordinators worries are eliminated. It's actually an easy week of preparation. It's just a matter of getting man handled or not.
