  1. Won’t be a playoff team? Pretty sure they have clinched and looking at their schedule they worse they finish in district is 2nd if they lose to to your WR Raiders. I think that will be a good game. Hopefully someone is streaming the WR/Harmony game since we are taking another week off because we are “too banged up”.
  2. Harleton plays hard and has some nice skill kids, but Waskom is just too explosive. I see it about the same way I did the Harleton/EF game. Harleton may and I say “may” be able to hang in there with Waskom for the 1st QT, but after that I see Waskom’s depth and speed takes over
  3. If i were comparing Leesville to a east Texas team. Year in year out success. It would be Gilmer. 2019 7-5 2018 13-1 2017 10-2 2016 8-5
  4. Friend in EF told me that Leesville gave EF the ok to stream it on their site. So their normal guys that have done the home games will stream the game. I will be tuned in since we took the week off. lol
  5. Another little difference is on kickoff team you can have a odd number of players on either side of the kicker. lots of little rules like that. Most you wont even recognize. hopefully EF will livestream the game. I know Louisiana teams aren’t doing it. So hopefully they will allow EF to do it.
  6. Leesville will be a great challenge. They have size and speed. 60 kids on varsity. Usually a winning program. Will be a great test for the EF program on the road. Props to the Staff at EF for scheduling the game. Was told from a few sources that EF had a school in Arkansas wanting to play, a 3A school with about 400 enrollment, but EF watched the video and didn’t think it would be a competitive game and wouldn’t make them better, so they took the Leesville game. As someone that does businesses with athletic programs in 4 states, it will be a challenge for EF. But hey, I like the mindset!
  7. We have a open week next week and EF has it open because of Ore City cancelling. But nobody in Disna seems to care for my idea to play it then.
  8. Yes. Game is Thursday. Was scheduled that way because of the Yamboree. But they cancelled it. But game will stay on Thursday. Officials already scheduled and crews already have Friday games scheduled also. With shortages in officials, got to just play. Which is fine with me.
  9. Hughes Springs is bad, not just football bad, but gave zero effort bad. Looked like they just quit on their coach before the first whistle ever blu. congrats to Waskom for makings them regret getting off the bus with that lack of effort.
  10. Saw video. From the point where Harleton went up 14-6 midway thru the first qt it was 38-6 EF. That is with EF getting inside the 20 a few times and not scoring. A fumble that killed a drive. EF played without starter #17 and #20 for the entire game #11 didn’t play the entire 2nd half. And my goodness the officiating. They didn’t have a clue on dead ball penalties, one time #10 for EF is pushed into the sideline, fights his way back on the field, established himself back in bounds and is still stumbling from getting pushed out and somehow catches the pass for a TD. The clueless guy calling that side of the field just called the receiver ran out of bounds and no TD. The white hat watched the entire play and didn’t over rule the call. Just terrible. Many other bad calls/no calls. the game was about what I thought. I knew Harleton would come out and play hard. Just didn’t think the could keep it up for a long period of time against the Depth of EF. Could have been a lot worse. Harleton could easily finish 3rd in the dist. I think that would be a heck of a year for them, moving up a division
  11. We are not very good. In the coaching profession there is a old saying. “You cant skip year one”. Add the fact we had a huge senior class last year, a tough year was expected by many of us that actually pay attention. I think the future we will have competitive teams and Coach Harrell will do a fine job. New Diana is always a tough place to win consistently in football. And i am Eagle thru and thru, but a realist.
  12. Surprised by this one. Have watched several Atlanta games on video this year and they were terrible. Good for them for showing up ready to play. on the other side, have watched 3 Sabine games on video and sure though they would handle Atlanta. I thought Atlanta looked to be the more individually talented team, but Sabine played better as a team going into tonight. cant wait to watch the video
  13. Its funny that every time I talk to someone from EF , their class(group) NEVER lost to Waskom. I mean if they played in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s. They never lost to Waskom. Only this past 6/7 years did EF ever lose to Waskom. I then follow that up with, but the career matchup is about even between the 2 schools. The answer is always, thats wrong. No way that is right cause we NEVER lost to Waskom. I always just chuckle because I am for neither school, but just always found that funny. figure this year will be kind of like the past 2-3 games. Very close hard fought games.
  14. That doesn’t mean starters didn’t play. Backup players can get tired. Even moreso. i never said that the coach said their were not injuries. Just that if he thought they were really going to need them to win, they probably all would have played. but add this was a non dist game, he felt they could win anyway, the best decision for his team was to sit them. i give all the credit to Harleton for beating them no matter who lined up. i have no dog in the fight, all you can do is play who is on the field.
  15. He may not say it publicly, but it is 100% what he said. I can guarantee that.
  16. Harmony also sat 5 starters against Harleton per their coach. Didn’t want to risk injury and thought they could win anyway. Over calculation on his part. But in a non dist game, guess he could gamble like that. Harleton will play hard, but just doesn’t have the depth and talent that EF does. In the 2 games i have watched online for EF they just bring waves of talent at every position. At RB they have 4 guys that are studs, 7,4,11,1 and I know 4 is really not a RB but can play it along with WR and TE. Not counting his play at LB. at QB one of the best Dual threats in East Texas. OL is 7 deep. WR has weapons all over, I do hope the injury to 17 last week will have him back soon. DL is 8 deep of very solid guys and that is not really counting big 72 that they haven’t really had to use that much on defense, but he will be so much fresher imo the final 3 dist games. The LB’s are probably best group in 3A you will see. 4,31,11, 7. They bring it. Also have depth behind them. I see this game pretty lopsided after maybe a tight first qt.
  17. I have those as 1-2. If DeKalb is 3 seed they would play the 2 seed, whomever loses that matchup.
  18. Definitely see them in the playoffs. Most likely a 3 seed. Cant see Prairiland, Redwater, Hooks or Chisum beating them unless they just fall off the rails ( of course it can be done). now winning a playoff game is another deal. 3 see matches up with 2 seed from what District? If its 11-3A that is most likely EF or Waskom from what it’s looking like to me. Probably not a good matchup for DeKalb, but you never know.
  19. That game last week was a physical ball game between Daingerfield and Elysian Fields. They both felt it and were a little slow out of the box. I saw the box score and EF had I think 7 pts in the first qt. Then 33 in the second qt. I assume they just played conservative the second half since it was 40-6 at halftime. Looks like Daingerfield had 8 pts at the half. Now I do think from the looks of things DeKalb is a better team than QC, but Daingerfield finally got things going. curious to see DeKalb the rest of the way. They are 4-1 They beat Sabine which is a good win and played Daingerfield to the last minute. They could go 9-1/8-2 depending on the Pewitt game on 10/16. Either way that would be a great year for DeKalb and a interesting playoff matchup.
  20. Correct. EF got a holding penalty on one drive deep that hurt them bad. The a fumble at the 1/2 yd line. ef on kickoff return fielded the ball at the 5. Ballwas going out of bounds. That gave Daingerfield a short field after a 14 yd punt at the EF 27. Heck of a game so far, should be basically a tie or EF up by at TD. but football ain’t if’s and buts.
  21. I thought it was definitely a double forward pass. Not so sure on the ineligible man down field
  22. Pick six thrown by Sabine and a fumble at the 1 yd line by sabine before the half and this is a even game. Sabine #3 didn’t even dress. The DE for Sabine #70 hurt his knee early. Daingerfield has some players, but I didn’t think Sabine would be in it as much as they have been.
