JTFan, I do think that this seriously played into this season for Holmes (and even some other teams across the state of Texas). For some, this Covid BS really has taken its toll physically, academically, and especially mentally of a lot of people. Not using it as an excuse, whatsoever, but it would be interesting to know how many young men were pulled from playing this year by their families. Another question is why no freshman team or actually, teams. Tyler (and yes, it will always be JT to me), has always had two full 9th grade teams each fall. So this will definitely be a huge factor next year, no matter who is at the helm of Cujo Nation. I hope that TISD will see this year as anomaly for Holmes and let see what happens next year when hopefully, things get back to normal.

Or it could be that the officials were following the rules and consulting with the coaches to determine if they wanted the 10-second run-off and if the offending coach wanted to use a time out so there would not be one (or in this game - two different ones). Gotta love those refs in the stands!

Should be some outstanding high school football in Region 1 throughout the first three rounds!

Haven't seen Pitt this year, but have L-E. They are big, and run the ball with power. Should be a great game.

There is only one thing I love more than a homer radio broadcaster...and that is a homer radio broadcaster who thinks that because they are "essentially on the field" (which they are of course, NOT) that they can hear and see everything that is said and happens on the actual field...not to mention, they think because they think they know the rules, well, they really don't...

Actually, it WAS called earlier in the game on Henderson - where two linemen were downfield (see attached photo with flag on the ground). However, because the pass was thrown out of bounds, the flag was picked up and waived off.
