  1. It is hard to say good luck to a bunch as classless as Poteet! Trash talking, cussing, dipping, making fun of our players, pointing at the fence when they came up to bat! Parents yelling threats at our players from the 1st base fence line, etc... Talked to some of our players last night and our kids said Poteet was MFing and GDing all over the field. Why umpires would allow this is beyond me! As far as Teddy- way overblown!! 11-4A has three pitchers better than him- Diamond, Turley and Heathcott!!! Teddy just has a great defense behind him! If Teddy is going to Oklahoma, Turley should be a 1st round pick of the Yankees!!!! After playing a representative from 10-4A, I praise the lord that we are in 11-4A with some decent towns and kids with some manners and morals. If that is what it takes to be #2 in state I will just stay here in East Texas! TH and Lindale I wish you all the luck in the world. Win it for us!
  2. Sulphur Springs 9 North Lamar 2 Kevin Mabe pitched a great game for SS tonight. He kept NL off balance most of the night. SS hitting was a little spotty. Lights went out on the infield in the top of the 7th and delayed the game for about 30 minutes. Typical SS facilities. When are the SS people going to ante up and build some decent fields for the kids to play on? I will admit that the baseball field is a lot better than the football field though!
  3. SS 10 Lindale 0 5innings. Diamond 1 hit shutout. That is Diamond's third shutout in district. He gave up 1 unearned run to NL. Wildcats hit the ball well tonight.
  4. TH 3 - SS 1 Turley pitched a good game as did Mabe for SS. SS made a few bobbles that cost them. They needed to play a perfect game to beat TH and just didn't get it done. Good game by both teams.
  5. Diamond threw a 3 hit shutout. Struck out 11 batters. Paris has a pretty good team but they are young. They will be good in the future. Diamond was just to much for them tonight! SS is hitting the ball well from top to bottom of the lineup. Good matchup coming Friday night. SS V TH 7:00pm at SS.
  6. Sulphur Springs 13 Lindale 2 in 5 innings
  7. It looked fairly massive to me also. He got under it and hit it pretty high. No matter where the wind was blowing it was not blowing out and it was fairly strong. The outfield fence at WP is 10' tall also. Given the wet heavy atmosphere I feel it was a shot!!
  8. Brittan Diamond no hit the Van Vandals in the Wills Point tournament in his first game of the year. One batter was HPB and one batter got catcher interference or he would have had a perfect game. No runner reached second. The Cats won the game 7-0. The Cats got some good hitting by Jeff Beck, Josh Dunn, and Ben Barrows. Diamond has committed to play baseball at Texarkana College next year.
  9. Brittan Diamond from Sulphur Springs - 2007 11-4A District MVP, 2007 TSWA-All State team will be a Senior and is pretty decent!
  10. I would like opinions on who is considered some of the top JUCO baseball programs around Texas. Coaches, tradition, success, facilities, etc......

  12. Sulphur Springs has several good ones. Josh Dunn #9 has done a tremendous job this year in the middle. He led the Cats in tackles almost every game. Brittan Diamond #10 is very talented and a great hitter. I think he had 2 sacks on Attaway the other night and laid one major lick on him just as he released a pass that went off target and he was playing with a torn MCL that he suffered in practice earlier in the week. He also had some good punts with that bad leg! Dillon Verner #33 a Junior did a good job also and will be back next year.
  13. Maybe I should have said offense was not their biggest problem. But in 3 games last year they scored over 30+ points. In 1 game they scored over 40+. But the least amount they held any opponent to was 28 points in all ten games!!! Giving up 40+ in 4 of those games!!!
  14. I was just agreeing with you! I have heard that he is being recruited in both sports. I think baseball is his preference though.
