Vandy just beat Texas A&M 74-73 on a buzzer beater at home. Wow.

I watched that buzzer beater several times and I’m pretty sure the shot wasn’t blocked he just lost it and regained possession after the travel. They would have never called something that close but it shouldn’t have come down to that to begin with.

How about the only reason you went to Tuscaloosa no longer existing?

    Does that check a box?

And it won’t be that crazy. They won’t get people from SEC schools in the Spring portal. You can’t go from SEC to SEC in the spring without siting a year.

I think Bama fans are about to be very surprised how much of an impact Saban had for them. Alabama will always be a very good program. They know what it takes to win from an organizational standpoint and they will keep trying until they get it right. But they are in for a rude awakening if they think life will be the same under any coach not named Saban. He was the best to ever do it. They will likely never achieve the run they had those 15ish years under him again. Hell honestly nobody probably ever will.

There were most definitely players who understood that and 100% went to Alabama solely for Nick Saban.

What was the Walter Nolan “read your contract” thing about?

My guess is there were certain expectations that needed to be met for him to receive all the funds/perks and he didn’t meet them. Goes to social media and tries to slander because that’s what immature and emotional 20 year olds do.

He doesn’t lose that much, tbh.

If anything, I think Texas is better next year than this past year.

They lose about 80% of their receiving production and several big pieces of the defense. Really don’t understand the take of them not losing much.

Im not saying they are going to suddenly become a 6-6 team, just don’t think they are a playoff contender. I can see a 8-4 or 9-3 type season where they drop a game or two that’s close like they did in 2022 where the inexperience in certain positions cost them.

    I felt both ways.

I think Sark is overrated as a coach and don’t want Texas to hire some who isn’t.

    but

It would have been funny to watch them scramble and they don’t have a great track record of hiring a good coach.

The Washington guy would have ended up at Texas if Bama hired Sark imo. This is the year we really see what Sark is made of. He loses so much and plays a tougher schedule that he’s had. If he wins 10+ this year I’ll be sold on him, but I’m expecting more like 7 or 8 with the amount of production he’s lost.

  6. Really think this might have been a good game if Henderson didn’t go down. Reed is just too inexperienced and too inaccurate right now to keep this close. Not a bad half from the Ags though considering the amount of players missing and the amount of walk ons playing. I’m headed to bed but hope to wake up and not see 59-12 in the morning. Would be okay with keeping this one at within 17 points considering.

On Dealyn Evans, was this just a troll job by him or a sincere quandary? Some people I respect have speculated that this whole thing was contrived by A&M just to get back some momentum.

No I don’t think so. It would take a lot more than one kid who’s honestly slightly overrated to sway much momentum away from a playoff contender.

Sark and his staff have all the momentum and will until next thanksgiving where A&M gets a chance to get some back. The only way Texas loses even a fraction of momentum is an embarrassing loss in the playoff. Outside of that A&M just needs to focus on themselves because there’s little chance to flip momentum.

Rumors abound on both sides of the Attoyac River about Bussey's imminent flip to the Horns or LSU ....

It’s possible, but he’s apparently really close to a couple of the A&M signees. My personal opinion is that every day he’s still committed is another day closer to him signing. The momentum for him to leave was at its peak 4 weeks ago when Texas was clinching a playoff birth, LSU was beating up the Ags on the way to the Heisman trophy and A&M was without a HC or staff. Every passing day stabilizes the doubts as the staff was/is hired and his buddies signed with A&M. Like I said it’s still possible he does indeed flip, I just think that’s slightly more wishful thinking than fact at this moment.

Would you agree that portal transfers to a particular program should be included in the recruiting rankings?

I mean that's what they're doing recruiting transfers.

Yes I think any player being brought in should count towards rankings. I also think that they should almost be weighted a little differently. A very proven college player transferring to another program should carry a little more weight than a kid that’s never taken a snap at this level.

  10. The hire seems like one that fits a very specific plan from Elko. He is thought of as a good recruiter but is not the big name hire people might have expected. I don’t hate the hire but it seems out of left field. I’m just glad it wasn’t Santucci.

My honest opinion is that Elko has hired a staff of guys that were not the big names people expected but all fit his vision. Time will tell if this vision is going to be successful.
