  1. School board approves hire of Shawn Brown as the Head Football coach at last nights meeting. Shawn's most recent postiion was the Defensive Coordinator at Sul Ross in Alpine, previously at Jasper and Caldwell as the DC as well. He brings over 19 yrs coaching experience to the Sandies.
  2. Good luck Yuga from Sandieland. Keep the district rolling.
  3. Good luck Yuga from Sandieland - Wish you guys the best of luck. Keep our district alive in the palyoffs.
  4. I believe the wind was blowing a WEEE bit harder than that last week. J. Murray has the velocity to handle 10-20 mph with no problem. He does have a rocket launcher attached to his shoulder. I will be more worried when the wind is at his back. :jawdrop:
  5. And the finest of wines are made from sour grapes!
  6. Ohhhh I almost forgot - If I may make one special request.... Please remove the feathers BEFORE frying it and bring plenty of gravy or ketsup...just in case. You might have a chance with the Cardinal but I can assure you, no matter how we fix the sand, it won't be very good! Now...back to the kitchen to perfect my recipe some more! No matter how many eggs and flour I use, I can't get this darn stuff to stick together....Ughhhhhhhh
  7. Come on....you know how us East Tx folk are - most of us have probably eaten crow, carp. gar, squirrel, wild hog, etc. We eat whatever we kill and don't waste a thing. I must admit though, I have never tried Cardinal - It must be the "Other Red Meat". I'm sure it taste better than sand and I've had my share of that living in the great town of Grapeland. How bout this - you guys from Maud fix us up some Cardinal and we will fix our best dish of sand. We can have a taste off tomorrow and see who wlns on the culinary side of things while watching a great ball game! All joking aside - these forums are fur pure entertainment and some people take this so seriously when it is purely smack - I wish both teams the best of luck with a clean, hard hitting game played tomorrow. Of course I will be rooting for the Sandies. Good luck to both teams. To the players - don't let all this adult banter bother you - we adults get bored during the week and need to run our chops about something. What's better than a great High School Football matchup like this one!
  8. You are welcome to sit on the Sandies side as long as you cheer us on....What year did you grad from CR? You guys were our rival back in the 80's - I graduated from T-Dad and my brother coached in CR for several yeArs.
  9. Red90Fly - the stadium seats 5,000- and we will make sure you have a seat on the home side- heck - we might even bring you a Sandie shirt so you can show your support of our district for a game.
  10. I personally played for the Community coach (Davy Dubose) back in the 80's. If anyone is capable of motivating kids and having a well disciplined and classy team, it is him. I wish the best to their team this week in the second round.
  11. Unfortunately, no one is a dure thing in the playofs. I think that Carlisle, Alto, Overton and Grapeland will move on, BUT if any of these teams take a breather for even one inning, they are at risk of ending their seasons. Best of luck to these guys and especially the Sandies.
  12. The series is over and done. Who cares how fast Murray was throwing as long as he got the job done. The boys are now focusing on there next challenge with Cross Roads and need to keep their heads straight without a bunch of mindless distraction. Good job this past weekend Sandies and good luck this week. Keep the focus this week and I have no doubt that you will be ready for the Bobcats.
  13. Guess it begin to get sorted out in a few hours - then the speculations, assumptions, guesstimates will be out the window....the clock is moving way too slow this afternoon.....It's a perfect day for a game! Go Sandies!
  14. From my understanding - 7pm Thursday in Whitehouse 7 pm Friday in Whitehouse TBD Sat if needed.
