  1. Win one today and we play for it all! KICK SUM AXE!!!
  2. Taylor had 190 yds against Athens. Way to shut him down!
  3. This one started just like last year. You just can't turn the ball over and expect to win. The Defense was the "surprise" I was talking about. They're a scrappy bunch and I think they proved that. Take away those two early turnovers and this was a 6-0 game. With the exception of the first quarter, we held our own and played a pretty good game against a very big and fast team. So what was the final bid on how many yards TNT would get? 40? 50? Not sure of his exact total but it was 100+. We have to get the passing game going. I think they should give Teal a shot a QB next week against C-C. Good Luck Eagles the rest of the way! I hope we get to see y'all next year (and the next).
  4. Yep, that's the look we're going for! lol
  5. You mean if Tatum wins, I would be surprised? Not hardly. If Diboll doesn't hand the game over in the first half like last year, YOU may be surprised. I really don't care if we win or not. I just want us to keep it close and have a chance at the end.
  6. Man, this being laid up is killing me. This will be the first opener I've missed in 17 years. I can't talk much smack because I haven't seen the boys play. But from what I've been hearing, we will have have a few surprises for ya. Wish I could be there. Good Luck to both teams! GO JACKS!!!! P.S. I'm pickin' Diboll to win by 8!
  7. Tatum v Diboll http://www.legacysportsnetwork.com/
  8. Wish I could be there. Been laid up with my back. Can't even go to a game for another 3 weeks or so. Good Luck Lumberjacks!
  9. The Lumberjacks beat Jasper 48-47 in OT!
  10. from: The Lufkin Daily News DIBOLL — With standout running back Terrance Taylor sidelined for most of the game due to an ankle injury, the Diboll Lumberjacks got a big game from QB Chris Bailey, who threw for 96 yards and a score and rushed for 158 yards and another score to lead the ’Jacks to a 27-9 win over the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks here Friday night. “I’m proud of the way our kids played considering Terrance was on the bench,” Diboll head coach Tom Sheppard said. “Our defense was flying to the ball, our offense played smashmouth football and our special teams really stepped up their game.” Diboll’s defense held the Hawks to 31 yards rushing, intercepted two passes and sacked the quarterback six times. Hardin-Jefferson had 157 yards passing, but QB Shannon Grantham was only 13 of 38 with two picks. Diboll’s offense had 360 total yards, with 264 coming on the ground. The ’Jacks got the scoring started with Monty Williams scoring on a 1-yard run early in the game. The Hawks came back and cut the lead to 7-3 on a 31-yard field goal from Quade Robertson. Diboll added to the lead early in the second period, scoring on a 30-yard pass from Bailey to Carlos Lewis with 11:48 left in the half. With Hardin-Jefferson backed up near its own goal line just more than a minute later, a punt from the Hawks hit a Lumberjack player and the ball bounced into the end zone. The Hawks’ punter got to the ball first and batted it out of the back of the end zone for a safety for Diboll. That gave the ’Jacks a 15-3 lead, which they held until the third period. The Hawks cut the lead to 15-9 with a 7-yard TD run from Jeremiah Richard with 4:42 left in the third period. Diboll came back quickly, scoring on a 27-yard run from Williams to go up 21-9 with 3:12 left in the third. The ’Jacks put the game out of reach with a late score. Bailey scored on a 73-yard run with 1:59 left in the game to make the final 27-9. Before Friday’s game former Lumberjack standouts Chuck Murphy, Bill Ivey and Judd Capps were inducted into the Wall of Honor. Diboll will host Rusk for Homecoming at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
  11. I'm going with the Tigers. This is always a good game. West Sabine by 8.
  12. OK then. I'm picking the Red Devils by 10. If I'm wrong, I'm blaming you Barney! :)
  13. Diboll has them for HC every year. In even number years (like this year), they are usually on Monday because of Diboll Day. The bonfire kicks off Homecoming Week on Monday and ends with Diboll Day on Saturday. When I was in school, the Ag boys (FFA Greenhands) always built the bonfires while the upperclassmen stood around and barked orders! I'm not sure who builds them now, but they are nothing like the whoppers we used to build. I think the incident at A&M kinda toned down bonfires everywhere.
  14. Stringer's Lufkin BBQ! Love those fried rolls!!!
