  1. Not sure which kid, but a kid from Winona won the Region III 2A Regional Shot Put and Terrance Ganaway of DeKalb was 2nd. Both throwers qualified for State. Both threw the shot in the mid 51's. Congrats guys!
  2. I think DeKalb made a pretty decent showing. I know Ganaway won the shot put with a 51' + throw and Ganaway also went neck and neck with Creer in the 2nd leg of the 4 x 200 Relay as Blake Hill outran the field to the wire in the final leg to secure the win for DeKalb in this event. I know DeKalb also won some of the long distance races and finished 2nd to Tatum in overall points.

  4. Ganaway was going to Rice until the coaching staff fell apart. I really think football wise, UH was at the top of his list all along. I believe Ganaway will flourish under Art Briles.
  5. He was going to Rice until Graham and Applewhite left, but he will now be attending the University of Houston.
  6. From Texarkana Gazette NE Texas Offensive Player of the Year - Terrance Ganaway - DeKalb A 3-time Texarkana Gazette All Area performer, Ganaway led the area this past season with 352 carries for 2,815 yards and 36 touchdowns. He was also the Associated Press 2A Offensive Player of the Year the past two seasons. He finished his schoolboy career with more that 6,500 yards. Ryan Mallet was the area MVP.
  7. The Army All-American Game in San Antonio is on NBC Saturday at noon. This was the Offense/Defense All-American Bowl in Fl.
  8. This is all I could find on the game. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=626180
  9. I guarantee you DeKalb Bears is not Ganaway. I am sure he has better things to do than read this mess. And, I am not upset about any Creer hype. I have NEVER said anything derogatory toward Creer. He is what he is, one of the greatest backs in the nation. The only thing I disagree with is the fact that Tatum fans want the AP to disregard the criteria used to select the AP All-State team and put Lennon Creer on the 1st team just because he is Lennon Creer. In a poker tourney, the one with the most chips at the end of the tourney wins.....not the biggest name in the tourney. In the AP All-State poll, the ones with the best stats at the end of th REGULAR SEASON were named 1st team. The next best stats 2nd team and the next Honorable Mention. I still don't understand what is so hard to comprehend about that. You can hype all you want, but don't think someone should get something just because of who they are. Creer will get his in a week or two when the awards come out that include post season.
  10. Rumor has it Tatum fans are in an uproar over Tiger Woods being named 2006 AP Male Athlete of the Year. :mf_tongue:
  11. So classy. I bet your mama is so proud of you. Creer may be a winner, but you are a classic example of a loser. There is no need to belittle other players just to make you and other Tatum fans feel better. And, Smoaky isn't what I thought he was if he doesn't do something about it. These are 17 and 18 year old kids you are talking about. YOU ARE A TOTAL JERK AND YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU DESERVE AT SOME POINT IN YOUR LIFE.
  12. **NEWSFLASH** It seems as if the fans of Homerville have gone from total disbelief that a couple of their guys were named to 2nd team all-state instead of 1st team, to an attitude of believing that being selected to the all-state team isn't all that big of a deal. Seems funny to me that something is only a "big deal" if it benefits or goes in the favor of the Homerville fans. If the Homerville players would have made 1st team, this thread would be 617 pages long. You guys can slight the guys who were selected all you want if it really makes you feel better. It is really immature and juvenile to do so, but hey, do we really expect anything different from Homerville? No. Your team plays and wins with nothing but class. You guys could learn a lot from those kids.
