  1. Reisel had the O figured early, but couldn't stay with the plan. You have to keep linebackers at home and they have to make plays against JOA, it could be a good game, but Goldy wins, sad part of the whole deal Teneha, Alto, Grapeland all win in big school, good ole high school Texas playoffs, gotta lov em. Cayuga state champs small school, most talent I have seen in high school since Overstreet and 66 touchdowns
  2. Congrats to Overton, what does the schedule look like for completing the task at hand, probably the 2011 season on the new field and in the new gym. This is great for all the kids.
  3. Good luck Chase and Coach. It is attainable.
  4. Good thread, hey look at the bright side, maybe next year Teneha can pick you for their homecoming and you can make a sign. Get even and all. But sigh........ they will probably pick us, I hate those Saturday games. Here's a thought, if they do pick us u can make a sign anyway and bring it over. yall are close. Just kiddin dont think yall will make fox news like nac did, but funny thread though.
  5. Played UG and scrimmaged Winona on an early Sat morn. The only thing that might keep this close is it is played in UG. That said, Winona has some speed that not checked could be deadly to UG. For every lost turnover delete 7 from that team Winona 24 Union Grove 14 Outside looking in, no dog in the hunt, just seemed like a neat thread, good luck to both.
  6. Still too too too much football to watch, and for Choice from Teneha just pick a position, Probably district MVP, but still more football to play. There is 4 teams I haven't seen.
  7. Not even going to guess, but, isn't it amazing how when these two teams get together it causes so much chatter, last year it was turnovers, say what you want, the kick off return fumble in the 3rd caused the ball to begin rolling. This year will be no different. whoever can cause the most and hardest turnovers, and JOA is big upfront, could happen. I also was at the Teneha - Joaquin game. Teneha came out dull and lacksidaisical (good word but who know how to spell it) my opinion only. When 5 and 8 decided it was time to go they had their way with JOA. pretty much how they wanted to. But that being said 5 and 8 for Teneha will have their way with most in our district, but its still early Teneha is one injury away from could of been a good year.
  8. Gonna be an interesting district from here on out. Some teams are bad some are sleepers, but 1-4 look at 3 of the four maud winona and EF, so looks to me like Waskom is 1-1, no one in our district could play with the other 3. Good luck to both, I pick Waskom to mess up a Saturday night.
  9. I watched him play Tatum his senior year and will always say he is an all american wide out, but a Hiesman Trophy Quarterback. the best QB I ever saw in person in high school sports including many. He has earned his spot, and looks every bit as good as I expected when he left high school.
  10. somewhat interesting matchup. If you will check apples and oranges as someone said above, Teneha has played a few tough oponents, so has Joaquin. Joaquin was but for a two point conversion, beating what is supposed to be on paper the best team in the district, MT. So there you have it, preseason pick was MT, Teneha, Joa, so I will say ( I have no Idea, but I hope Teneha looks real good which will give us still very little hope in the future, but hope just the same.) Teneha 14 Joaquin 10 (oh but I guess they dont have a kicker for that field goal and extra point so)(chk MT last week) Teneha 14 Joaquin 6
  11. Being a Beckville Fan, you just have to say, the 72 points are not indicative of the way Teneha played as much as it is the way Beckville played. Taking absolutely nothing away from Teneha, very good team. Beckville has been like this for a couple of years, get us down early and it is easy to kick us with anything. We gave up 60+ to cushing last year in one of those games, just don't know when they will occur. don't understand, but will say this, we have some underclassmen that when they arive on the scene and I mean really arrive, if the damaged goods can be salvaged will show leadership, something we haven't had on the field for sometime, since the days of Nico and Petey, two years ago.
  12. good comments all, I am hoping, Ok call it what you will, (second guessing) that the coach is trying to find what he has for defense that will help. Gentry and backup QB could have helped at corner Friday, both corners but we were working on some future their I guess. have to say had a soph show big heart on D, and the Fresh center had his moments, young but building, one more note, since our head coach has been here I say (to myself)why are we doing that or why we doing this, and every time he has shown he knows what he is doing, I will sit back and relax Friday, the Bearcats (correct spelling ©) will have a good night, because we have heart at the skill positions called COACH. We should do better than last year against the (k's).
  13. With so many schools going to turf, anyone have any real numbers on what it costs to convert to TURF. Seems it would be less expensive to manage and a lot more user friendly for the entire school (ie. band, track, etc..)
  14. Any Idea what turf cost these days, seems more and more schools are going to turf. Just curious, seems to me with a 20 year warranty and all it would be cheaper on a district to go to turf.
  15. Looking at DC this year we root for Carlisle 171 or Cross Roads 183.5 to get in then,,,,, Alto goes in as small school. Bless your heart Maud, you get what your praying for, be carefull bout that praying sometimes you get it. And Lord help those small one a's if Alto goes in small school. But hey gives some of those big schools a chance for a change, and everyone at least deserves a chance. Maud will be good, but if they were that much better than Alto last year, why did Alto win Big School and Maud got beat by the one that got beat. Hmmm, puzzling don't you think. Can't beat tradition. Or at least its reallly reallly hard... Good luck to all ----- Aug 4 cant get here quick enough.
