Oh lord I just wasted 10 minutes of my life catching up on this thread...

The amount of talent in that general area is crazy. I read an article recently, about the number of athletes that played on NFL teams at some point from this area (all of these schools are within 12 miles of one another). Basically SOC and the southern suburbs of Dallas is a hotbed. DeSoto - 22 SOC - 25 D'Ville - 8 -10 Cedar Hill is close by and also produces a lot of talent as well, they just haven't been as successful recently since Joey McGuire departed. I can't find the source article now but those are some ridiculous numbers.

It was a mess created by their school board and they never recovered from letting their best coach in history walk away... Self inflicted mediocrity IMO.

Yeh, there was what 3 good games all weekend? Koff/Franklin, Gilmer/Bellville, Gunter/Tidehaven…SOC/PNG…so 4 decent games.

I think we all lost Bally’s…the between games programming is scheduled now but the UIL is running behind. Bally’s said screw it, here’s a black screen. I’m glad it’s free from our ISP and I don’t pay for this BS.

I’ve never seen a helmet like the NS O lineman wear. I’m assuming it’s a new style developed for concussion prevention due to repeated contact with D linemen? Anyone care to educate me? Edit: Makes them look like they have a Predator forehead.

Oh I don’t disagree, PNG was the more balanced and ultimately better team. I just would prefer to have referees be consistent. Either swallow the whistle or use it, but you can’t do both. Any game starts going one way it’s unfair to change the way you’re calling the game after the players have adjusted. That’s as a football fan, I have no dog in the hunt in these games.

They let them play all day…just need consistency. If you’re going to call it call it the whole game, not the last 5 minutes. It’s not like it was egregious.
