Yes, L. Brown left Oklahoma state and played in the NFL for a few years as well as Europe I believe. Minnesota, Seattle, and I believe the Bills. He and T. Brown were our ends in high school. They were good! Both had good college careers as well.

YES, I do mean schools who have never won and look as though they might never win.

I saw a topic about "Disappointing Seasons." East Texas is the best football in the state according to myself. Reading other posts made me wonder .... "are there places in East Texas where you just can't win in football?"

I am an East Texas guy now coaching south of Houston. Monterrey Tech tried to schedule us two years ago and we said no to them. We did not want to play a bunch of twenty year olds against our younger guys. It also would not have been a good game for them to play us, as I expect it to be the same against Texas High. The reason for the backout from Monterrey Tech last year was a Cartel thing. Monterrey Tech was told they had to pay $30,000 to the Cartel before they could leave for America and then come back. They made a financial/life decision to stay in Mexico. Myself and a group of our staff met their staff at A&M a few years ago and we got the impression they didn't always return to Mexico with the same amount of kids they left with. They were really nice guys though, and they were definately studying the game while at A&M.

I just watched this clip on the UA site. WOW! Thats terrible his mother would do that. I would put a longhorn on my shirt if my son were ever fortunate enough to get the chance to play there. Support your kids decisions!

Are you serious with this comment? I mean I don't see Longview beating Marshall next year either. Marshall blew Longview out 24-0 in 1910 so therefore there is no way Longview can beat Marshall this time! Dawson is not the same team from '09, they are better. Lake Travis is not the same team as '09 either. Their not as big or as good. Dawson was in it's second year in '09 and trust me when I say there was a big difference in the two programs that day. The differences this time won't be there, other than the 2 loses vs. 0 loses. This is why we play the game and don't let people pick winners. I wouldn't say Dawson would beat every 4A team in East Texas, but I would put my money on them with this years team week in and week out no matter who the competition is.

I know there have been missed years, but Whitehouse v. Chapel Hill was always a great game no matter how good or bad each was. I remember being in High School in the 90's and Chapel Hill painted our football field and the press box the week of the game. I can't tell you what it said though b/c I would be banned from the site.

These voters are saying NOBODY from either team playing in the 3A Div. I final are good enough to be 1st team all state. Go figure!
