  1. Not convinced this will stop the movement... not sure it is intended to do so either. Looks like Texas is cleaning up the legal issues that might restrict them from joining the confrence they prefer. All schools are trying to put their programs in the best position they can going forward. This bashing is nonsense. Texas will do what is necessary to get what they want, they can. Good for them. Those that do not have the money or the influence will use whatever resources they have to come out of this with positives. If that means litigation, so be it. There are no bad guys in this deal. This is business at this point. Collectively Texas is the greatest football state in the union. I hope all Texas schools end up on the better end of this deal. Most people I know agree.

  3. Thanks for focusing on one sentence in my entire post, pretty much what I expected. If you would have read the thread you would have known that I have no issues with Baylor fighting for their lives. If I were a Baylor fan I would be livid if my administrators were not. Good luck. Hope to see Baylor end up on their feet. We are not talikng about OU, OSU so I am done here. From my seat it appears you have an axe to grind and I have no interest in playing.
  4. I hesitate to open a dialog with you but.... it makes no sense to "run" from Texas. Not likely that is the driving factor. What is your basis for that opinion? Why would anyone "run" from Texas? What makes more sense is that, yes, the Aggies (and others) were uncomfortable with the obvious advantages the LHN would afford Texas (and good on Texas for leveraging their stature, I happen to think they are wise for trying to do so). Add to that the consensus being we will see a transformational movement in the next ten years regarding the foundation of the NCAA confrence structure and it becomes a little bit clearer. All universities are looking at this very closely. Either in the hopes of making a shift, or, adding quality teams to the conferences that make it through to the other side. Also, most would agree that a Texas team in the SEC would potentially gain a foothold in our state regarding recruits that want to play in the SEC. In case you missed it, we lose several good players every year for that very reason. This is a perfect storm for the Aggies right now. If they can hold their ranking this year, finish out strong in a big bowl game, and finally get moved over to the SEC, I thnk you will see some pretty strong recruiting classes over the next few years. Is the potential there for the Aggies to struggle in the SEC? Sure. Should that cause one to look for a weaker conference? No.
  5. Agreed. My comment about uninformed fans throwing mud included fans of all schools. I have a lot of Aggies in my family, I am not one (Go Kats!), and I am around a lot of Aggies in general in my work. There is no question the LHN stirred the pot, but, no one I know likes the idea of watching the Ags play South Carolina on Thanksgiving. I feel like the game will continue at some point. Not realy concerned about the OU, OSU game as the Aggies do not have the same investment in those games. However, it would be ideal for them all to stay together (not likely). Again, everyone is protecting their own interests, some have options and others are nervous. We will just have to see where this goes. While the Ags in the SEC is attractive, I would go on record admiting that it would be dissapointing if the Texas game did indeed die a natural death.
  6. No question the LHN has a part in this. I just think it is a bit much to say that any school is bailing because of Texas.... There is so much more to what I feel is really happening right now in Div. 1 football. I think there is a seismic shift coming and that is what is driving the movement. I hope to see a situation where Big 12 schools continue to get each other on their schedules.... yes, even Baylor. My point is that all universities should be scratching for their lives right now. If their administrators are not, they should be run off.
  7. No one is leaving "because" of Texas. The entire country looks to be shifting towards the idea of the "super-confrence". The Aggies are fortunate enough to have some really good options.... thats it. Is money driving the decisions... uhh yeah. It certainly has a lot to do with it. I would like to see an example of one university that, in this day, is not focusing on money. It is necessary to do so. No hard feelings, just business. I think you would find that most fans, alumni, and administrators all hope to continue playing each other (aTm, Texas, OU, OSU, TT etc.) The only bitterness I have seen is coming from uninformed individuals on sites like this one who, for whatever reason, like to throw mud. I understand the argument from the Baylor and Iowa State corner. If I was a Baylor fan I would be kicking a scratching as well. The only difference here is that the Aggies, Oklahomans, Horn's do not really have to kick and scratch as they have viable options. Again, thats it.
  8. And they are only 1-3 because they beat a pathetic Texans team that does not want to play football. At one point with about 10 minutes left to play Goose (Seragusa) was shredding the Texans on TV. He was pointing out how the sideline was deflated and they were only down two scores! As he is giving them the verbal beat down the camera is scanning the bench documenting what Goose was observing. I turned off the TV and spent the rest of the afternoon reading. Pathetic. As I said last week both teams lack leadership while having plenty of talent. Lots of neglected football fans in Texas this week. Maybe we should stop selling out their stadiums and perhaps they will get the message?
  9. Both teams struggled. JJ is not looking as sharp as he has in the past. I do not remember his ball being so ugly. Everytime he throws it my stomach knots up. Cant make a whole lot of sense out of NCAA football right now. Same could be said for NFL. Strange things is happening. :icon_eek:
  10. Sack you familiar with this photo? Was from a friend of a friend so I was not going to get real specific, that said you are right.
  11. Ill give you Brooking, Romo is not even close. I have Romo right there with Manning... Eli not Peyton. I dont want anything as I do not play for Dallas, I was merely making a comment on a forum. I agree with the Cushing comment and have always believed that men who RELY on roids to perform will eventually fizzle ala The BOZ. If you are naive enough to believe that it does not happen regularly in the NFL I have a home run record for sale in SF. Cushing can recover if he is not completely reliant on the juice. While I do not support cheating it is a stretch to say that cheaters are not leaders.
  12. Obviously success requires talent and leadership. Dallas has the talent part on lock down.... leadership is still in question. While the Texans have lots of what seem to be character guys (Schaub/Ryans/Johnson) I do not see the fiery confident guy on either side of the ball yet. I think Cushing is that guy if he can get through this substance #### (<---- really? the C word?)without folding. Foster has the potential to be that guy on the offense, Schaub and Williams do not seem to have the personality for it. Both of these teams have serious potential, I was not knocking either. It is way to early to value stats. I would rather have good stats than bad at this point no doubt but it is hard to draw conclusions on 3 weeks data.
  13. For the nay sayers. Enjoy this beutiful E. Texas cat.
