  1. and if alba golden is as good as you think they are they would have beaten more than two winless teams last year and como pickton who was horrible also see i try to stay away from bad mouthing people but obiously you are not about that i never once said anything bad about ryan young or any of the other alba players i have nothing against them i agree when people say they are a good bunch of kids and apparently you have no idea what you are talking about because that group of jr.s or sr.s now are the hardest working kids up there every one of them have been in the weight room almost all summer not because they think they are so good but to get better they know they aren't the best but they do strive for perfection like everyone else does and dont hate on them just because they are in the weight room every day getting stronger while half of the kids on every other team in the district is just enjoyin the summer sun that's why quitman and winnsboro are on top and alba and como is on the bottom... not lack of talent or lack of size, size comes with hard work and weight training so net time you might wanna get someone elses opinion or get your facts straight before you think you have any idea what you are talking about.
  2. young is fast very fast but... the reason that he got so many yards last year is because quitman was out for blood and hard hits after AG decided they wanted to jump on their bulldog before the game if they would've played structured defense instead of just trying to kill the kids they would have made many more tackles i hate to break it to you quitman will be just as good if not better than last year with losing only 2 seniors that will be tough to replace and having 8 returning jr.s on the team and 1 returning sophomore and all are in key positions i look for quitman to be 9-0 by the time they get to winnsboro
  3. haha i can't believe that you are suggesting that austin frye could go to a division 1 or even division 2 or 3 college and play football you ahve to be tough to play college football and from what i saw when ag played quitman... that wasn't tough he got hit hard sure but everyone gets hit hard it's part of the game but instead he wants to stand on the sidelines and watch his team go down while he's over there talkin to the cheerleaders... ryan young is a very tough kid on the other hand he will go play college football... and logan williams... he must have gotten every tackle every game for AG because usually it's the corners and free safteys that are having to make the tackle after the d-line is blown away and i hate to break it to you but 6'3 200lbs isn't big enough to be a defensive lineman in college... and i dont know who the other kids are but like already said playing football in college for smalltown highschool kids is few and far between
  4. BBallman... you're ignorant... that was dumb...
  5. ryan young is an outstanding running back with a hard work ethic and a lot of determination... when AG played quitman last year the poor kid got pounded play after play but he just kept gettin up and coming back for more... any other running back would have just called it quits and come out of the game... the thing that's gonna kill him in the sense of goin to a division 1 college and playing is his height and weight... but i am in no way saying it is not possible
  6. 7 on 7 doesn't matter... we will see when the pads come on... as i recall hawkins played quitman in 7 on 7 and beat them pretty handily almost every time but once the pads got on it wasn't even close with quitman winning by 3 or 4 touchdowns...
  7. Quitman is doing really well right now! their pitchers are throwing strikes, their defense is playing well, and they're hitting the ball... but like said before anything could happen... and every year e-wood peaks in the middle of district they always seem like a completely different team second round but who knows... and yes gs will be a very tough game for the dogs that game could go either way as well as the e-wood quitman game... good luck to all teams!!
  8. This game is played Thursday. Winnsboro won the first time they played... but lost to GS and EWood and quitman beat both of those teams... could shape up to be an interesting game... any thoughts?
  9. Winnsboro's pitching is not strong enough to contain the stinging bats of e-wood... i'll take e-wood in 5 innings... 11-1
  10. yes they have... i think that the winnsboro game was a big wake-up call for the bulldogs... they just need to keep it up and not get the big head...
  11. Even one of the best pitchers to play the game (Nolan Ryan) holds the record for the most wild pitches in a carreer... so being all over the place every once and a while is not necessarily a bad thing...
  12. Peckham did credit the win to his defense... the words of the great Coach Nolen... P+D=C
  13. Quitman will have to get the bats going because im sure they're going to see Johnson on the hill... he's having a really good year this year on the hill good luck to quitman
