  1. How did the game turn out ?? Score, key plays , big hits, pitching ??
  2. GLAD HE IS GONE. AS FAR AS A GOOD CHRISTIAN, THAT IS TO BE DECIDED. THE WAY HE TRIED TO RUN UP THE SCORE ON FOLKS IN EAST TEXAS ??? HE NEEDS TO TAKE LESSONS FROM ANOTHER DAINGERFIELD COACH THAT IS COACHING IN DALLAS. . HE KNOWS HOW TO KICK YOUR BUTT IN STYLE AND NOT SHOW YOU UP ON THE SCOREBOARD. HOPE HE LANDS THE JOB. NOW FOLKS WILL GET TO SEE HOW GOOD A COACH BOWMAN IS WITHOUT ALL THE D1 KIDS SURROUNDING HIM.
  3. You have no clue. Most band programs only buy uniforms once every 10-12 years. Really good ones would run around 45 K for a band of 100 kids. Parents buy the instuments for their kids. When was the last time you paid for helments, pads, uniforms for your kids? 'purplemonkeydishwasher' date='Jan 30 2011, 03:36 PM' post='1509691'] 1 Fully outfitted band uniform costs $600-$700! DONT CUT BAND!!!!!!!! But maybe not have uniforms? I DO NOT EVER want that to happen.......But if you got 150 in the band...Theres about 90,000 saved....
  4. Word on the street is Bowman was spotted in Texarkana touring Texas High with the AD there. He is looking for a replacement for McClure. What a shame for DF.
  5. WOW!! WOW!!! I bet Bennett is fuming after this one.
  6. Buddy Ray is in QC now. What do you think his chances are to beat his old team?

  8. Y.A. Tittle #1 Don Meredith #2 Edd Hargett #3 That's my top three. All of the others were not long time starters for their teams.
  9. ED HARGETT from Linden- Kildare was a very good QB on a very bad New Orleans Saints team in late 60's and early 70's. To bad he never got to play on a good team in his career.
  10. Made a few calls to QC to folks in the know and they say this job is still very open for the taking as of today. They are being very selective in the search for a coach.
  11. I sat thru all 18 innings of that game and Clark Reynolds pitched the 1st 10 innings and Mookie B pitched the final 8. The score was tied 2-2 after the second inning and then went scoreless till the 18th. The game was against SL Carroll and Lineweaver was the coach for them. ( Foul mouth and all ) The person I felt sorry for was the catcher for QC Heath Carver. He played the final 8-10 innings with a cut leg from a play at the plate and knocked in the winning run in the 18th. His son is an up and coming player I hear. Heath was by far the best high school catcher I have ever seen. Barber was on the team the year before that lost in the state championship game in Austin. He was playing for Texas A& M when QC won state. I got to watch a few QC games this year and the talent they have and what is coming is going to be as good as those teams had. Thet are going to have 4-5 quality pitchers to pick from. I cannot believe a top notch coach has not JUMPED for the chance to coach these kids. QC has finally hired a veteran AD which is highly respected in the coaching circles in east Texas. This is one of the plum baseball coaching jobs to land and don't come around very often. I wish them the best of luck in their search and hope to catch a few games when I am not watching my adopted hometown Tigers.
  12. Has Queen City hired anyone yet??? I can't believe a top notch coach has not applied for this job. This program has some of the best young talent in east Texas. A state championship is in their future. QC has a veteran AD in Buddy Ray and great facilities.
  13. I bet you Jerry Bennett will figure out how to get the ball in Linwood's hands about 30 times a game. Go Tigers!
