On paper this should be a blowout. But this Marshall team has faced alot of adversity this year and has come through it with a 2nd round appearance to show for it. The offense has been inconsistent but the defense has played well enough to keep us in games. If a few bounces go our way who knows....

Agree! Safe travels to all Denison fans Friday and hopefully both sides will be full and create an electric playoff atmosphere. Im anticipating a good close hard fought game.

Im seeing this is a 7:00pm kickoff Friday night. Should be another good game at Maverick Stadium. Need Mav Nation to pack the house and get loud from start to finish. The crowd vs Whitehouse was DEAD!

Marshall 35-20 at the half. Slone has an amazing 6 td passes in the first half (5 to his own guys and 1 to Nac).

What about the teen offense linemen that everybody has been talking about not playing well. Thats okay i guess? Whats the difference? Maybe you have some direct relationship with said qb? This forum is to discuss high school sports which involves teens. So if they have thin skin i would say they need to stay off these boards. Nobody is bashing them as people, just their performance on the field.

Oldmavdad, yes our current qb situation is as bad as its ever been. You can include Burris and Carswell in that conversation also imo.

Pretty obvious after all the previous drama this is Alvaraz last season in Marshall. Good riddance. You cant beat good 5A teams running a junior high offense. The defense is good enough to keep us in games and they played well enough against TH for us to win. We just cant score points with such a vanilla offense and a totally inept qb. Mav01 is correct, even the backup qb Henderson could pass as well as Slone plus provide mobility and play making with his legs. We are still likely to make playoffs with the #3 or #4 seed so now is the time to make a change. But it wont happen .... you know stadium construction and all. Marshall folks know what i mean.

Slone had his best game of the season vs Hallsville. The numbers should have been better if not for several drops by the wrs. A couple of sure fire long tds. He did leave the game with a knee injury and had an ice pack on it on the sideline during the 2nd half. Hopefully hes good to go for this one. Gatson looked like his old self running the ball with long explosive runs. Marshall might just be peaking at the right time if we can clean up some of the fumbles and dropped passes and cut out the stupid penalties.

About 10 illegal formations. We were severely outcoached especially that 2nd half. Those boys played too hard and deserved better
