Probably the most undisciplined Hallsville team ive seen. Lots of personal fouls and unsportsmanlike penalties.

Semaj with 70yd td to open 3rd qtr. Marshall up 31-7.

Halftime 24-7. Mavs get ball to start 2nd half.

Hallsville qb took a big hit and left the game. Looked like possible concussion. Hope hes ok

Marshall 21-7 8:00 left 2nd qtr. Semaj Gatson is finally looking healthy and showing glimpses of last year. And i have to say Slone is on target tonight.

Marshall fumble leads to Hallsville td. So instead of going up 21-0 its 14-7.

End 1st 14-0. Marshall driving again. Hallsville has 2 turnovers that killed good drives.

Marshall up 14-0 late in 1st qtr. The lineman that is out is sophomore #79 Eric Perkins.

Mavchamp i know he has had some personal issues since the NFL, but Kendrick Starling was one of those players that could dominate a game from the wr spot. He was a beast in that 98 Longview win!

Other than the defensive line, Pine Tree just wasnt that good. Marshall didnt look all that impressive but was just overall the better team. I see that same type of game this week. One thing i will have to say is the Mavs defense was very aggressive and were flying around the field. Made the stops when they needed to. Score prediction 28-17 Hallsville scores late to make it a little closer game.

I was excited about the possibilities for Marshall in district play, but now with this dumpster fire tbh i wouldnt be surprised if they dont win another game. I think it all comes down to how this game turns out. If they can figure out a way to win it could have a domino effect through the rest of district. But if they lose especially if its a blowout they are done and checked out.

I think Marshall keeps their streak going at Pine Tree. The Mavs found some toughness against Carthage especially on the defensive side. This one will probably start out as a low scoring battle but Marshall will break it open late with turnovers and maybe defensive scores.

They called penalties on both players but marshall was the only one ejected. At least that was announced.

I will agree that both teams were at fault for letting it get out of hand. But it really ticks me off when people dont put any blame on their kids and have the mentality of oh its just the marshall kids when carthage was just as much as fault if not more so.

Let me put it this way. Alvarez is an old school, no-nonsense type of coach. I have seen him jump all over our guys when they get out of line. But for HIM to be upset at the refs and not at our players that tells me something. Not only did i witness it with my own eyes but to see him react that way tells the tale.

Cowboy, on the play where the marshall player was ejected, the carthage guy was the first to throw a punch. But of course the refs didnt see that. And carthage #8 could have been called for unsportsmanlike numerous times talking and taunting after every play he made. He even came to our sideline and flexed in our assistant coaches faces.

No doubt Marshall was out matched in this one. I predicted it to be 42-14 so i was pretty close. But i was proud of our guys toughness in the 2nd half and never give up attitude. If we can carry that over into next week and into district play we will be fine. Carthage played dirty the whole game and we never backed down. I was happy to see Alvarez actually jump all over the refs defending his team. Usually a 38-13 loss would be tough to come back from but i think this will do just the opposite and motivate the Mavs to a possible district championship.

I predicted 35-21. Pretty close its not over just went to a lightening delay.

Marshall up 21-20 at the half. Lions get ball first to start 3rd qtr. This game is going to come down to turnovers and which defense can get a stop.

Marshall gets back on track in this one. I can see a score of about 35-21. Henderson should try to test the Mavs secondary early as our starting safety will be out the 1st half due to ejection in the Longview game.
