If it is close to start the second half then I think Carlisle will win because Coach Baker teams will always be in better shape late in the game. Carlilse will try to shorten the game by pounding the ball on the ground with #44 and #1 and use the clock. That really was their recipe for success last year and it will be the same this year. In most of their games last year they were able to do that but when they played Lovelady they were not able to control the clock with the running game. Carlisle will try to keep it close and win in the 4th quarter.

Should coaches be given a pass at cussing the kids on the field or should they be held to the same standards as teachers in the classroom? I think they should be held to the same standards.

I could not make it because of work but after talking with some of the parents who were there they said if Carlisle plays half as bad Friday night as they did Thursday night our season will be over. Everything fell apart -pitching, defense and hitting. To the Carlisle players - This is another gut check call. You answered the call last week. I think you can do it again.

chilipepper - I agree. I don't think workout on Memorial day (just one extra day) will help you beat me come October or November. One more thing I bet chiphilton or orange80 did not work at his or her job on Memorial Day. Proably was at the lake or sitting on the couch. Try to stay ahead of the game and tell your boss you would to work July 4th, Labor Day, Thankgiving and Christmas.

Grapeland should have scored in the top of the seventh. They had a lead off triple and did not score. Q. Wedel struck out the next three batters. Props to Grapeland in the bottom of the second. Carlisle had the bases loaded with no outs and did not score. Carlisle had a call for a gut check and they answered the call. Carlisle made mistakes (errors) early and Grapland made them late. Overall a well balanced game between two good teams.

rcs nobody enjoyed the walk-off win more than me. I have a very close relationship with one of the coaches on Carlisle's team so i'm excited and proud of whatever they do. You should not have enjoyed it since i think i read a post where you picked Grapeland and Lovelady in the regional final.

Carlisle wins 5 to 4 over Grapeland today in Jacksonville. Carlisle's J.Clark walked it led off the bottom of the eighth. A. Moody lays down a bunt to move Clark to second. Runner on second with 1 out. D. Cassell then strikes out. Carlisle now has 2 outs. C. Stewart single down right field line. Carlisle now has runners on first and third with two outs. J. Jackson singles over second base to score Clark with the winning run. Next up for Carlisle is Lovelady in Lufkin. Coaches are still discussing a one or three game series. "Do it for Skinny" #5

Grapeland jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two. Carlisle changed pitchers from Coleman to Q. Wedel. Wedel has shutdown Grapeland for six innings. Carlisle scored 1 in the fourth, 2 in the fifth and 1 in the sixth. Carlisle will be batting in the bottom of the eighth with no outs and no one on base and their number 6 hitter up.

I guess it's 6 to 2 now. The emotions of the Carlisle players will have a lot to do with this game both good and bad. Will they be able to contain their emotions they have for "Skinney" or will they be overcome by them? If they are able to contain their emotions think Carlisle will win. I know the players and coaches and they will not use it as an excuse if they lose.

Looks like it's 5 to 2 with Grapeland ahead in the prediction department. My prediction Carlisle 5 Grapeland 3.

Glad to hear that. If you get up to around 50 we would be in trouble so it might help us because our bats are slowwwww.

He gets it up there at about 50 to 55 MPH. Kind of wild and will walk you if you take some pitches. Team is not very aggressive at the plate so just get it over the plate and they will take it.

It's one game not a three game series.
