  1. White Oak beat Jefferson 9-0 WHITE OAK 9, JEFFERSON 0: WHITE OAK — Jessica Patak tossed a two-hit shutout at Jefferson, striking out 15 and walking one, and the White Oak Ladynecks opened District 16-3A play with a 9-0 win. Patak had two hits, and Kara Carter and Maci Teague drove in two runs apiece for White Oak, which also got RBIs from Samantha McGrew and Alexis Herrera. Carley Chambers had both hits for Jefferson. Hannah Welch took the loss. She fanned four and walked three in six innings.

  6. Yellowjacket89-- I am pretty sure you are keeping it on the surface by continuing to talk about it and STARTING a thread. What are you trying to imply? Are you saying that all Coach King did at EF was win?? If you knew anything about Coach King, you would know that he much more than a "football coach." He is caring, kind, and big hearted. He loves kids as much as he loves the game. He helped those kids academically, socially, and emotionally even when football was not in season. Did you know that his two daughters (2 & 4) loved those football boys as much as their dad? He came home and talked so highly about his players that his own children grew to love them. He didn't just coach football. He didn't just WIN football games. He was a Dad to those kids that didn't have one. Did you know that he supported the girl athletes at EF just as much as he did the boys? He cared about the overall success of Elysian Fields athletics, not just football. But more importantly, he cared about each one of those kids. Working at EF is no easy feat. Even after all the criticism (FOR NO GOOD REASON), he continued to want to be at EF and worked endless hours with NO CONTRACT to help EF succeed on and off the field. His entire family loved that community. I don't know if Coach King's story will ever be dropped completely because it is such a mystery to everyone, even Coach King, what he did to deserve this. (Hence EF's "bad wrap" that you refer to) If you truly don't want this to keep resurfacing then I suggest you not start anymore threads. Have a nice day!
  7. Elysian Fields had every girls and boys sports last year in the playoffs except for boys basketball. Tennis, golf, cross country, and power lifting all sent kids to regionals. If you think that our other programs at Elysian Fields are not successful or growing then you are wrong. Coach King is VERY involved and supportive in all sports at Elysian Fields, not just football.
  8. Nac Athletic Handbook states: DRUGS AND ALCOHOL Exemplary behavior is expected of athletes under the jurisdiction and sponsorship of NISD schools and the NISD athletic department. There is no acceptable reason for alcohol or illegal substances to be used by any student-athlete in our athletic programs at any time during the calendar year, nor are there acceptable reasons for NISD studentathletes to be present where illegal or controlled substance activities occur at any time during the calendar year. Any athlete found to be involved with controlled or illegal substances, through confession, legal or disciplinary chargeable events, will adhere to the following consequence progression (in addition to disciplinary or legal consequences that may apply). FIRST OFFENSE - Suspension from participation for period of two weeks from date of offense which will carry over year to year or season to season. The student will remain in the program, but may not participate in any contest during the suspension. SECOND OFFENSE- Immediate dismissal from all athletic competitions for one calendar year from the time of removal. The student may remain in the program at the discretion of the athletic director and his/her coach. THIRD OFFENSE- Immediate dismissal from the athletic program for the remainder of the students NISD athletic career. After two years, the student-athlete may seek reinstatement by approval of the athletic director, principal and head coach of the sport(s). Is this the new rule?

  17. . 14-0 Union Grove with 3:37 minutes left. Game seems to be in slow motion, but the announcer has been very entertaining.
