  1. I wasn't trying to argue that fact at all. I merely said that it was basically a downfall of what used to be as far as homeschool before all of the organizations and groups. Furthermore I went on to praise the behavior of some of the ones I have interaction with. But, I have seen the ones who don't have any kind of social interaction with other kids and I am not talking about being "cool" as you stated. They just have a hard time functioning in society when they are completely sheltered from it. I personally despise rap music and Lil Wayne so please don't rope me in with that kind of thing. I just believe that kids need to be around and involved with other kids. Wether it be in sports, boy scouts, youth group or whatever. Public schools provide social interaction..... I certainly am not naive enough to say it is all good interaction but, it makes a difference. I support whatever type of schooling parents decide to do... and I am a school teacher. I just like to see parents not completely shelter their kids and allow them to be involved in things. That's all I am saying!!!
  2. I'm sure there are plenty of qualified parents that educate their children. But, for every one that is..... There is probably at least one that isn't or doesn't do a very good job. My biggest issue though has always been the lack of social interaction. However, there are a lot of home school groups and organizations now days to help bridge that gap and get kids together to have that social interaction. I have a group of home school kids that comes to my basketball camp every year and they are some of the most intelligent and respectful kids in the entire camp. So.... It can be a good thing apparently.
  3. Well... I agree with you on some things. I believe that there are a lot of hypocrits and understand your frustration. You can however do a lot of correlation of between the time frame of two things being phased out of our schools and violence like never really seen before. One of those is prayer and the other is paddling without fear of getting sued. I would agree that most people are on the hypocritical side and that is unfortunate. Because Jesus spent most of his days with the worst of the worst and poorest people there were!!! He wanted to reach everyone and treated all equally. Which is what we as christians are supposed to do. But, unfortunately doesn't happen like it should. Sorry you have such a negative opinion of God and Jesus because of those hypocritical people you speak of!!
  4. Very true!! If people would quit worrying about what the other person/people are doing or getting and just worry about themselves and their children then things would probably go much smoother!!! Remove the plank so you can see to remove the splinter!!
  5. It may truly be facts, but I would be ready for the ripping you're probably about to get from all directions. Might wanna brace yourself!!
  6. Having worked in the district for several years on the North side of Tyler I can tell you that there are many problems. Political mess is a big part of it. Everyone is just out to help themselves and don't really seem to care about the students or teachers. But as much as I hate to say it racial division is probably Tyler's biggest obstacle. And I am not talking about whites not liking blacks or Blacks not liking hispanics. I am talking about an equal dislike among all races for the others. It is mostly a North and South thing but even on the North side there is racial tension and hate within that part of the district towards eachother. It is what made me sick and want to leave the district. Until the people of Tyler whose kids go to the public schools learn to get along with everyone in their town/community then it will continure to decline until Lee and JT are left as typical inner city schools where nobody wants to teach and crime and drop out rates are astronomical. Hopefully people won't take this as bashing but, in three years that is exactly what I saw!!
  7. I don't think you have to worry about GS slacking off. You might see some of their relief guys pitching but, that would be the most as far as rest.
  8. Any ideas as to what kind of offense this guy is gonna run? Is it safe to assume they will probably stay with a spread look??
  9. Good job... Congrats to Coach Thoms and Alba for this big win. It was a great game. Every time you thought it was all but over... Something else would happen and it just kept going back and forth all night long!!! Great game! Both teams played Extremely well. Congrats to Coach Nick and Malakoff as well. I know they didn't finish the way the wanted but, they had a great year!
  10. Monday night in van.... 7:30 I think. No matter which team it is.
  11. 14-0 at halftime called due to lightening?? I wouldn't say that game was "Easy" as you put it?? Could've been a whole different second half!
  12. Pretty sure the green font in the quote box and the Fox in the screen name gives away the fact that CrazyLikeaFox already knows who was in first!!
  13. Oh, I agree completely. People miss calls. It's just part of the game. I just hate to see it be one that makes the difference in the game as this one did. But, I wish all the playoff teams the best of luck!!
