After losing Lee and Greinke, what next?
CrankThatCrabtree replied to 85lobo's topic in Major League Baseball
Matt Garza is who I would go after, lock him up for 5 years and 70 mil. If worked with Mike Maddox I think he could reach his full potential, which is scary for the league. -
Texas Tech's offense is a joke, our OC is an embarrassment. That's my only real opinion on the game.
-
27-21 UT wins, I'd suggest not hurting Potts or you'll be in real trouble however.

North 1) Nebraska 2) Mizzou 3) KSU 4) ISU 5) Colorado 6) KU South 1) OU 2) Texas 3) Tech 4) A&M 5) Baylor 6) Okie St.

One of these guys has proven he can hit over the past 7 season, the other is a rookie who has had 3 good games. Moreland should definitely stay with the big club but should only be playing day games to give Cantu a little break. If they continue to truly platoon then Moreland will get way more at-bats which to me seems counterproductive.

The Official Rangers @ Angels 3-Game Series Thread

Amazing Oakland is over .500 when Kurt Suzuki is there best hitter, maybe Jack Cust but that's not much better. -

Rangers get Cantu in Trade

I really think this move puts us in great position. (With Kinsler out) With Kinsler SS Andrus.............SS Andrus 3B Young...............3B Young LF Hamilton............2B Kinsler DH Vlad................DH Vlad RF Cruz................LF Hamilton 1B Cantu..............RF Cruz C Molina...............1B Cantu 2B Arias................C Molina CF Borbon............CF Borbon That 2nd lineup is about as good as any in baseball IMO. There won't be significant OBP dropoffs like there was. -
I wish A&M would have been down for the Pac 10, mainly because it would have meant a lot more money for Tech and no discrepancy in the distribution of revenues. I don't love the distribution but I get why it is there, now I have to root for A&M to go to the SEC because that'd probably get Texas and Tech and OU and OSU into the Pac 10, but it would be really icky to not be in the same conference as the Aggies.

FYI I'm the manager of Team Hasselhoff

The Rangers have a catcher, his name is Molina and he's average by MLB standards... you can't have all-stars at every position. The Rangers have one of the worst hitting first basemen in baseball (statistically, he's got potential and he's young). The Rangers would be helping themselves a lot if they can pick up a mid-level veteran. (Ty Wigginton or Jorge Cantu).

Texas Tech vs. Texas A&M

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm a Leach fan and many schools would be doing very well to hire him as head coach. Tommy Tuberville has accomplished more than Leach has in the coaching profession however and I'm excited to see how he does with Tech. Has Tuberville done more because he's had better resources or because he's better. I think it's somewhere in between as I think Tech's resources are underrated. P.S. you know why Tech couldn't recruit over the past decade? Mainly because Leach didn't create positive relationships with the Texas high school coaches (who play a huge role in the recruitment of their athletes). Tuberville is speaking at every function creating the right relationships. Even if he ends up being terrible he's going to recruit some athletes while he is here and the next coach can step in with the cupboard pretty full. However, Tubs has always done quality coaching jobs and I bet he does another one. -
Texas Tech vs. Texas A&M

The most extreme change possible for next season's offense is that we look like Troy with less QB runs. I promise we won't be in the I-form half the game or anything like that. -
Well Georgia Tech put up 222 by themselves against Cumberland, but I think the answer is the UNT vs. Navy game that finished 74-62 in 2007.
