  1. good luck to him. that's a tough gig. 4th in 5 years or at least 3rd in 4. all hired/fired by same supt.
  2. you probably just need to concentrate on setting the volleyball and let baseball take care of itself. that way, you won't have to post on how "political" the all-district selections are next year.
  3. at the 2a level, of the 16 teams that qualified for regionals in basketball, only 3 were repeats from qualifying for regionals in volleyball. oddly enough, all 3 were from region 4. at the 1a level, of the 16 teams that qualified for regionals in volleyball, only 1 qualified for one of the 32 (div 1 & 2) regional spots. BRF- there's your answer to your small-school question. Out of a possible 48 regional semi-final spots in 1a-2a basketball, 4 of the teams made regionals in volleyball as well. if you want to take it even further, of the 64 1a (div 1 & 2) basketball regional QUARTERFINAL spots, only 5 reached the same level in volleyball. In 2a, out of the 32 regional quarter spots in basketball, 6 did the same... with 4 of the 6 again coming from Region 4. Combined at the 1a-2a level, of the 96 basketball regional quarterfinal spots up for grabs this year, 11 made the regional quarters in volleyball. windthorst and poth are extremely impressive, but they are exceptions rather than the rule. this of course is just my opinion after 15 minutes of research on the uil website...lol!:happy65:
  4. if it bothers you so much, stay over in the junior high forum. you're pretty much their Fonzie over there...lol:whome:
  5. guess the big question I have is if you have all these rings and "will to win"... why Rivercrest and Como? Seems to me that your services would be needed more at JT or ATL!!!
  6. ACTUALLY, that would be the 1989 team that won district then two matches and made it to the regional semifinals. the Bullard girls won district from 1988-1990, then finished 2nd in 91 (my cousin graduated in 90). this year's group did great, but has a few more years to go before they can claim "Best Ever" ... and, usually in volleyball, the school name goes on the back of the jersey...
  7. dude... did you just cut and paste this from ESPN???
  8. kinda like what marching band does between football halves, right Scooter???:whome::whistle: besides, "that time in between football and baseball" starts for you in two week anyways, right?:crybaby::sick:
  9. honest question... how much of a "turnaround" can be attributed to improved ATHLETES vs. improved SCHEDULING? not just these schools but in all levels of sports. for example, the NFL adjusts the leagues schedule each year so that more bottom teams play each other the next season and more top teams match up, in the effort of achieving parity. we really need to ask this question at the end of the season. that's when a lot of 5-0 or 4-1 teams have finished the year 5-5 or 4-6.
  10. glad that they've won some games, but I wouldn't call it "stepping up" yet. have any of the 3 teams that they've beaten won a game yet? I know that white oak is o-fer and I'm pretty sure that Huntington is (unless they've beaten one of those 1a teams). has Sabine won yet?
  11. why would Bullard need to change anything on the court or diamond?
  12. hopefully, all that stuff will help their Academically Unacceptable junior high... and thank YOU!
