  1. Who gives a #### what you recognize? To try to take away from the accomplishments of these young men is just pathetic!! Why not just say something good about these athletes who represented east Texas with pride? or just keep your piehole shut!!!
  2. Congrats to the Redwater Dragons Powerlifting team for winning the schools first ever state championship. The Dragons were led by 242# class State Champion Jessie Roberson, 181# Runner up Josh Trumble and 165# 5th place Robbie Eitel. Other state lifters were Lee Cecil, Chance Edwards and Dewey Fleming. The Dragons were coached by Division 3 Coach of the year Billy Whitt and Nathan Turner. WAY TO GO DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Congrats to RB Akeem Shavers on signing letter of intent today to play football for Purdue University. Akeem is a 2008 grad of Redwater High School and played for Independence JC in Kansas and Tyler Junior College. The Boilermakers are getting a great RB and a fine young man. Congrats from Redwater to Akeem and his family and to Purdue I say FEED THE BEAST!!
  4. Probably misled? No high school coach in his right mind would schedule his team against players that finished high school 1 or 2 years earlier. Not only is that dangerous it is a serious liability issue. This game was supposed to be against a good HIGH SCHOOL team, not a collection of 19-20 year olds from several high school teams. You are right about one thing, if a school gives 19-20 y/o players a chance to play again they are gonna do it. Those schools are called Junior Colleges! Bradenton Prep Football is as it probably should be -- done!!
  5. I am sure they are all model citizens. It does not change the fact that several of these young men used up their high school eligibility one or even two years ago. Some of these players did not even attend the former Bradenton prep. I would not say these young men are mercenaries but the coaches and admin at the former Bradenton Prep have been using them this way. There is a reason they are not eligible to play public schools in Florida. Just do a little research on the internet and I am sure you also will smell a RAT!
  6. Defensive MVP Colton Southworth #21 OLB from Redwater
  7. Josh Williams is no longer enrolled in Redwater. Heard he may be enrolled in Options program. I do know he has already used up his high school eligibility. I believe the story was that he played in Oklahoma somewhere as a freshman and then moved to Texas the next year and was a freshman again as far as academic credits concerned. Played 3 years in Texas. Can't confirm this it is just what I heard. You guys will be happy to know that new lights have been installed in the bat cave. Looking forward to seeing Scooters boys play.
  8. Go Brahmas, the rest of 12 2A is pulling for you! Beat the heck out of the self crowned "champs". Home cooking won't help them in the pasture! :coolball:
  9. Who ya got? Do the Dragons have a chance at the upset? Probably have to win out to make the playoffs.
  10. 3 TD's , You called it Big ED, defense was dominant. Offense was plagued by turnovers and penalties all night. Score should have been much higher. 21-0 halftime score stood. Redwater 21 Waskom 0 final dont know waskom total yardage but i bet it was less than the 76 from last week
  11. Redwater 42 Waskom 0 7th and 8th graders also post shutouts!
  12. An EASY win? I believe last years scores against the Dragons were: Redwater Varsity 34 Sabine 12 Redwater JV 40 Sabine 10 Yep, I see the reason for your confidence- sounds like an easy win to me too! :banghead:
  13. You are right coach! This year should be the start of a pretty good run at Redwater. The talent is there and the coaching staff is top notch. Those who follow the Dragons have been looking forward to this year for a long time. Dragon fans are excited and ready for some football.
