  1. I cannot believe I am agreeing with you but you are close to being correct. I disagree that most teams could score that many points on our defense... at least not yet.
  2. He may not have had a helmet in high school but at least he could spell the word! You make all of us look like jerks in Kilgore with posts like that. Bottom line: 2 very good football teams played a great game. We were just fortunate to come out with a win. Good luck, Henderson. Your defense is the real deal!
  3. Absolutely right, brother! That game was very even. Both defenses are powerful. I hope you guys make a run!
  4. But he did catch the biggest pass of the year!
  5. You know, it is fun that Gilmer, Kilgore, Henderson and Bullard are good this year. Yes, Bullard is a surprise but they strap it on and play hard all night. The fact is, Henderson/Kilgore will be a great game. We can post negative statements about each team and live in the past, but when it comes down to it, the kids play the game... not us. Kilgore is balanced and has a fantastic defense. Henderson can be explosive and has a solid defense. Kilgore's schedule may appear weak, but you never know how teams are going to respond during competition. We have taken care of business. Henderson, well they have a mixed bag. Regardless, this will be a war. May the best team win.
  6. Please do not replace the grass. There is nothing like football on the real stuff!!!
  7. Chapel Hill, as always, operates with class. I look forward to a good rivalry with you guys over the coming years.
  8. Good point. But not jealous. I have enjoyed watching our kids over the last 7 years.
  9. The Gilmer-Henderson game was the strangest game... next to this Cowboys-Giants game. Henderson is one dimensional on offense. It will take Tricky Dickie doing some quadruple reverse throwback to the waterboy play to get Kilgore out of sorts on defense. I just do not see that happening. This defense has been up to the task since we lost to Henderson last year. Offensively, Kilgore will pound your front 7 all night. That will be a great matchup to watch. Should be fun.
  10. Quote: "One more thing: you keep dogging and insulting the people of Kilgore, trashing Kilgore, when in fact most everyone on this board thinks that Gilmer fans believe they are better than everyone else. They have an arrogance about them that few other high school programs do. If any program's fans deserve to be arrogant, it's CARTHAGE, maybe DAINGERFIELD, but not you. You dusted the fire of defeat off your coattails against Henderson. But you won't in two weeks. Your team will lose district to the program you obviously despise the most. AND THERE WON'T BE A SINGLE THING THAT YOU OR YOUR QUICK-WITTED POSTS WILL BE ABLE TO DO ABOUT IT." Traylor has won 2 state championships and badly underachieved in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011. All of those teams were good enough to create one of the largest and greatest dynasties in the history of HS football. However, the arrogance starts with the head coach and works down. Now, the fans believe they have a sense of entitlement to a district and state championship. Gilmer has been great. But they have not finished the deal with teams that have been loaded beyond measure. Gilmer struggles to get past a Carthage team that just simply wins with class. BTW, Gilmer got us in 2009... badly. But Kilgore took them down a notch in 2008. But first... we have some business to tend to with Henderson!
  11. Top Defensive Lines in 16 3A ranked top to bottom: 1. Kilgore 2. Gladewater 3. Henderson 4. Bullard 5. Gilmer 6. Spring Hill 7. Chapel Hill Gladewater has the two most physical kids in the district overall. They are athletic, strong and dominant. Kilgore is better from end to end with depth. And that D-Line is backed up by the best LB core in East Texas. Anyone who has seen every district team play will have a hard time questioning my rankings!
  12. Seriously. Gilmer has been great for a very long time. Your record is also indicative of another great season. Matchups are different for all teams. You give up points to a team that Kilgore does not and vice versa. But if you want to look at points allowed, we can. You gave up more points to Jacksonville than the Kilgore defense has allowed all year. Offensively, we do what we need to do to win games. We have never found it necessary to score 70 points against teams like Liberty Eylau. Trailer seems to believe it is okay to kill every opponent. Valery and Woody have never done that... except with Whitehouse last year and that was retribution! Regardless, we are not looking at Gilmer right now. We have something more important to take care of this week: Henderson!
  13. Hmmmm.... well, you might have got me on that one.
