  2. Sark has really turned the program around though. We won a game 35-6 and the fans aren’t satisfied with it. Some of that is Sarks fault but a lot of it is a team that’s still growing. Murphy didn’t quite anyone wondering if Manning might be better. It’ll be another interesting week of practice reports.
  3. I agree, BYU never really presented a threat all day. Murphy was average and the questions will continue this week.
  4. Get through this game then you can play Manning in the last 4 if you want and still preserve his RS
  5. BYU isn’t good. I think going second and goal with Redcat was a mistake. 3rd ad goal was a late throw and almost picked. 4th and goal I think Sanders should’ve cut inside Whittington. Murphy hasn’t been terrible but he doesn’t give me confidence with much better defenses coming up on the schedule.
  6. On the next drive he threw a tunnel screen to Worthy off of a fake toss the other way. He spun his head around much quicker and Worthy almost spun free but still picked up the 1st down. Murphy learned quickly and good on him for it. Speed of the game was always going to be an issue today. He’s already improving.

  8. Sark certainly isn’t dumbing down the offense. Murphy didn’t react quickly enough on the fumbled play to make the throw but Worthy would’ve walked in.
  9. So it confirms I know nothing about Dangerfield at all, haha. I hope for a good game Friday night. I’m excited to see Hampton play but I hope for an Eagle win.
  10. Harmony has won games in different ways but I have to believe they’ll try to methodically move the ball with quick passing and a strong run game. Their back #1 has been a workhorse throughout district, he would’ve closed out Diana but a holding call wiped away his first down run inside the 10. Harmony should be as healthy as they’re going to be coming off the bye week. I haven’t watched Dangerfield since Gladewater. So I don’t know much about them at all. I’ve read that Hampton may visit Oregon soon and Texas analyst aren’t sure if he’ll stick with his commitment if he gets the opportunity to play receiver at Oregon. Harmony coaches have proven to be really good at making adjustments, if it’s close at halftime I like that being a factor for the Eagles.
  11. 9 on offense and 8 on defense depending on the personal. Depth can be an issue in a grind it out type of game. As many play both ways.
  12. I’m fascinated to watch the game today. If Murphy can remain calm under pressure and deliver accurate passes the offense should be fine. If he can hit a couple deep balls the, the offense could really open up in a way we haven’t seen since the second half of the Bama game. If the offense struggles, people will start asking about Arch.
  13. Umm if this is the where each team is seeded Harmony will play in the regional championship again. They are basically at full strength again, only missing a safety that is likely out all year. Also heard Harmony turned in 283 today.

  15. I’m sure they’ll commit to the run game and try to blitz the Qb early and often, but that doesn’t mean they’re a good team. I mean Texas is an 18 point favorite without their starting Qb. Home field is worth 3-3.5 so that means Vegas thinks Texas wins by 2 touchdowns with an unknown Qb. At least Vegas thinks they’re bad.
  16. Because you wouldn’t throw a true freshman into a 1 score game on the road. But you might let him start a home game against a bad opponent after a full week of starters reps. Im completely on board with Murphy getting the start but just seems interesting that Sark didn’t commit to Murphy yesterday.
  17. But we also know that Manning has been taking more reps with the 2s than Murphy since Baylor week. I think they’ll both play but remember Murphy spent his RS year retooling his mechanics from head to toe and had a bad ankle injury from high school that kept him out of practice early on. Manning ran a very similar style of offense in high school to what Texas runs now. So similar in fact that some of the play calls were identical. Practice reports recently have said Manning is better at protecting the ball and getting to his 2nd and 3rd read. Murphy could come in and kill it but I think Sark knows Arch is a better fit and the reason he didn’t commit to Murphy for Saturday.
  18. Is the Hooks starting Qb on track to play again this year?
  19. Been out all week, zero cell service for the most part and I get back to modern life and we have a mid season quarterback battle looming and our DB injuries may be worse than the Qb injury. Mondays press conference will be fascinating. Obviously we’ll hear how long Quinn is out but also how Sark plans to approach the Qb position. I expect Murphy to be the starter but will Arch get a shot early vs BYU if the offense struggles? Not exactly how I thought the second half of the season would begin but Texas football ain’t easy.
  20. There are going to be some incredible games in round 2 and 3 in this region.
  21. Penn State Arkansas Cincinnati Alabama Missouri Oklahoma State Kansas State Florida State USC Clemson Tiebreaker: 43 points
  22. Cincinnati Washington Tennessee Kansas South Carolina BYU Texas Tech USC North Carolina Oregon State Tiebreaker: 49
  23. Agreed and their loss is to Florida. I think A&M is the better team but Tennessee has the talent to win the game, they’re coming off a bye week, and it’s at Neyland. It would be hard not to pick Tennessee.
