  1. True... I guess at this point of the year the predictions can actually look like this: 1. ATL/Pitt/LE/PG/Paris/NL 2.ATL/Pitt/LE/PG/Paris/NL 3.ATL/Pitt/LE/PG/Paris/NL 4.ATL/Pitt/LE/PG/Paris/NL 5.ATL/Pitt/LE/PG/Paris/NL 6.ATL/Pitt/LE/PG/Paris/NL Im just ready to watch some football!!! It would be nice
  2. Anyone can win district this year no doubt. The only reason I base my predictions is because the Texarkana area is in kind of a lull right now with football talent. Looking at all 4 main schools in the Texarkana area, I don't see one that will make a major impact. In recent years, teams coming to or playing against a Texarkana team had their hands full but the past couple years really showed how down the area actually is. It is cyclical though and the area will be a power again soon with the younger talent starting to develop and move up (and in). I say in the next year or two you will see another texarkana team making a deep run, just not this year
  3. The records won't look much different this year either, aside from Pitt... considering what district they were in last year. I will say: District prediction -Pittsburg 5-0 -Paris 4-1 -Atlanta 3-2 -The bottom 3 could be in any order LE/PG/NL
  4. Depth means nothing without talent to go along with it. A big 5A school has a lot of depth but unless that depth has talent, a decent 1A school could beat them. 13AAA will be competetive inside its own district... Its gonna be a battle for the top three spots between Pitt, Paris, and ATL. Unfortunately I just don't see LE, PG, and NL being able to step in and beat these three teams. The toss up games will be NL/Paris and LE/ATL based solely on their rivalries. Who knows, maybe I will be eating my words come november... its plausible, not probable though. However, I will say that it will be nice not having to play someone from 16AAA in the first round for a change so that actually improves the chances to make it a little further in the playoffs.
  5. Everyone is looking at football for MV. I know it is the biggest part of school's athletics, but their girl's basketball program should do much better, their softball will do better. Football will be a little more evened out, aside from NB and Daingerfield. On a whole, I think they will be just fine in a couple years. Im just surprised they will not be playing Winnsboro in district... pretty good rivalry not taken advantage of there! Besides, I would bet they win more district games in football now. Probably more next season than the last 4 seasons combined
  6. Maybe they have gone through both that way they can get a faster reply... Just a thought. However it is just January and re-alignment has yet to happen
  7. Good to hear about you and your sister. All of LE misses Carl tremendously. I know that he is watching over you both and is very proud of the man you are growing up to be and choosing to serve our country with pride, bravery, and honor; and of the young lady that your sister is becoming. BTW we saw Donnie this past saturday at my son's basketball game and later heard from some that he had been admitted to the hospital... Is this true and if so, how is he doing? Best of luck on your endeavours and God bless from your LE family!!
  8. I know I'm a little biased but I'm shocked that no one has mentioned Lamichael James. The kid was unreal at LE and now has rushed for almost 5,000 yards at Oregon in three years and will be going pro this year or next
  9. I think he's convinced that no matter how good Paris thinks they are, they too are OK at best. They may be ready to go ahead and chalk up a loss in the first round but ATL and LE are capable of playing with anyone in 16AAA and our fans don't assume a loss before the game. That's great support on your side.
  10. having seen both teams play...ATL "should" win this game. However, ATL and PG has a tendency to be a toss up. PG has Melvin Gray and ATL has a great tandem TB set with Dickson and Webster. I think ATL's running game will have another big game and should win by a few TD's but PG's coach knows how to plan ahead. ATL 35 PG 7 but wouldn't be surprised if its closer
  11. Gilmer's best is out for the season if I hear right and Carthage depends on which team shows up. Good chance for both to go deeper than most would think.
  12. No kidding!!! But we throw the ball some more and I have a sneaky suspicion that we score more than that. Our receivers had the atl secondary beat all but once or twice and that ball was way over thrown. I think we should have thrown a little more but hey... I will take what we get
  13. I don't think the real ATL fans that actually have first hand knowledge of an LE/ATL matchup have sour taste, it's the ones that never gave LE a chance. Real fans hate that they lost but were proud of the job of making it a helluva game.
