  1. I can't believe there is really 10 pages about this game.... Two posts probably would have been enough, "Longview in a blow out" could be the first, and "Yeah, the only way that doesn't happen is if longview decides to stay home and watch cartoon network", would be the second. I will say that longview has a history of choking lately, but honestly Jacksonville shouldn't even be in the playoffs, 4th place in the weaker of the two divisions, why not just start the playoffs in august, let everybody in.
  2. Home field will help Marshall, but I still see this one going Kilgores way. The Bulldogs are playing good football right now and if Marshall can't stop the run it won't matter what stadium they play in.
  3. It really doesn't matter what your record is, I understand you wanting to correct the point, but at this point in the year the only thing that matters is Friday night. Neither teams will make the playoffs, both teams are playing for a little bit of pride, it comes down to who wants it more.
  4. Groves at home, on senior night, should be close. Whoever has the least amount of turnovers will win.
  5. E.F. really didn't look that great, twice the lions had goal to go situations and fumbled both times. They shot themselves in the foot over and over. You let scoring opportunites go like that when you run a ball control offense. The fumble on the punt return was big, Groves defense had just put in a nice series and had to go right back out, its hard to win games like that. I thought Grove defense did a good job all around but eventually you have to score some points.
  6. Ding Ding..... Fight!!!! But seriously, that was definently a distraction that no high school football team needs.
  7. I keep up with Union Grove players, but I don't know much about the other teams. Jason Wynn at nose gaurd is a big kid who eats up blockers and when he is aggressive can make some noise, Carter and Quick are Guards both very solid, both kinda small to be playing that position, both can play defensive end as well, Woodfin is solid, also plays both ways. Kalinec is our smallest up front but he is a fighter, not gonna over power anybody but he finds way to block people. All in all they are a pretty good group up front.
  8. Sabine has come a long way, its hard to change from the top down, the younger kids coming up will benefit the most from what the program is doing, there could be some bright years coming for sabine.
  9. And heartburn from three half time concession stand trips.
  10. So how about some talk about district players, I don't keep up with every team in the district or all the players but I'm interested to see who you would pick for All District Honors this season. I'm sure McCurdy, Humble, maybe Benefield but what about some linemen offense and defense?
  11. WOW!!! What a rediculous post, if you can't handle open ended criticism, your in the wrong profession. Its as simple as that. How much time did it take you to type this statement up, because it sounds like you could have been watching film or something, instead you get on smoaky and want fans to feel sorry for you, which only draws more attention, mostly negative, and this is probably more of a distraction than you need considering that parents are already tired of your coaching. I don't know where you are from, but get over yourself and coach your team and don't worry about anything else.
  12. There will be no love this week for J.V. football, Longview/Pine Tree just took what little bit of thunder you had.
  13. Can anyone stop Kilgores running game, it sure doesn't look like it. Being from Pine Tree years ago I know how tough it can be to play in the Tomato Bowl, espeically late in the season when the temp starts to drop and the field is wet, this could be a close game. I'll take Kilgore by 10. They just hold on to the ball for to long.
  14. Again, this should be a good game, EF is playing alot better as of late but they a very young undisiplined team. Grove has more experience and is very disiplined. Last week there seemed to be no excitement on the field for grove, someone needs to step up and be a vocal leader both on offense and defense, someone needs to take charge and tell the others that they are gonna make plays and they are gonna win. There are a few players on this team that I know for sure have the leadership quality in them, it needs to come out this week, get excited, play from your heart and have fun, its getting to late in the season to have any regrets. Go all out these next two weeks, and there won't be any regrets.
  15. White Oak has to much fire power for Harleton, I expect the first half to be close and then Harletons defense to get a little tired in the second half. White Oak- 42 Harleton - 20
