73tigers is right about how attendance zones work for charter schools. Triple A is allowed to enroll any student in the DISD attendance zone. This was a move requested by Triple A. The UIL or TEA didn't force. At the least, it's a premeditated move by Triple A because they were going to be moved to 3A during the next realignment. Starting in 2014, charter schools have to be aligned in the same conference as the smallest school in their attendance zone. Since the smallest DISD schools are 3A, Triple A was going to be moved to 3A.

He'll do a lot better at Nacogodoches than he did at Katy. The basketball coach at Katy faces a lot of challenges that the great majority of coaches don't face at the 5A level.

If CH was referring to Chapel Hill then it's Ryan Cook. If it's not referring to Chapel Hill, then I have no idea.

They hired the coach from Gary. I believe his name is Ryan Cook.

JBizzle is correct. Prop 1 was for "academic upgrades" while Prop 2 and Prop 3 dealt solely with the scorebaord and indoor facility. All 3 easily passed. The superintendent wasn't trying to fool anyone.

The issue may have been about certification rather than classroom management. Classroom management issues can be dealt with. It has become more and more difficult for all districts across the state to keep non-certified teachers in the classroom.

Headed to OT tied at 70. Athens missed 2 FT's with 4 seconds left. Silsbee was holding for the final shot and turned it over. Silsbee fouled and sent Athens to the FT line.

I've been to the state tournament the last 8 years and don't remember Argyle being there at all . . . I wouldn't call a 35-34 win in double overtime a whooping either. You're now 1-1 against those sorry teams from District 16-3A that have won 4 of the last 8 state championships in 3A. I guess you can now add a 2011 state finalist banner to that 2005 2A state finalist banner.
