  1. why the heck did Ross throw that ball when he could've just tucked it and go. You'd think by Game #10, 11 with the scrimmage, he would've learned to tuck and RUN.
  2. Sorry, my bad on the misstatement of IMG's opponent. I still think Desoto will be ready. They're going to come out to prove last week was (not wasn't) a fluke. Hopefully they do against the football factory that thinks it's a high school.
  3. DLS had a ton of speed. Trinity just gritted it out more and came out with the win. They never quit. DLS is at an advantage to the public schools because they can bring in players while the public schools have boundaries to observe. Trinity's opponent next week, IMG Academy is a football factory, plain and simple. Their QB "transferred" from Calvary in Shreveport. I hope Trinity takes it to them next week as well. I don't believe the private schools should be ranked anywhere with the public schools because the field is not level.
  4. Longview played "Light It Up" by Fallout Boy last night at the Lobo/JT game. And John Tyler....went military.....I was stunned. They played March Grandioso while marching and then did a pop tune. I hope the kids get better each week and it will be interesting to see them at Region 21 in mid-October. I'm curious as to why the switch? Any thoughts from JT fans?
  5. Region 21 UIL Contest is brutal for the small corps bands. Tenaha will have a tough road to make it to Area out of 21. It's dominated by military bands and judges. I wish them luck. Hope they do get to State. Sad to see Humble give up the military style. Before 6A, the ONLY 5A bands that were military were Longview, Lufkin, Kingwood, Atascosita, and Humble.
  6. Close to 500 yards on the ground against UT's defense. They better close those gaps or they will get destroyed in the Big12 this year. Mack Brown may be on the hot seat (finally) this season. Gig 'Em.
  7. Back in the 1990's, and before, Marshall was an amazing band. They and Longview were the only 5A's in Region 4. When Marshall dropped to 4A, Longview moved to Region 21 and Marshall fell off the map. I know they several directors and a style switch in between then and now. I had always hoped Marshall would return to their "old" ways and return to be one of the best bands in East Texas. Congrats to the directors and all the kids. I hope this is the beginning of many more Firsts to come. Maybe Sweepstakes for them this Spring? Good luck the rest of the way to the Mavs team and band.
  8. I saw JT last night at Region 21 and they were AWESOME. To say the least. Although they got robbed by the judges with a 2, whatever the new director and kids are doing there....KEEP IT UP. They had an amazing sound and good performance. I would love to see the judges' sheets on their performance to see just what "got" them the 2.
  9. Tale of 2 halves. Guyer gets two drives, 2 TD's. 20-14 LV leads, 2:15 left in 3rd.
  10. 20-7 Longview. Guyer has the ball now in the 3rd. 5:18 moving in the 3rd.
  11. With the band missing about 40 kids who are at the TMEA All-Region tryouts, it was good to hear that former members came back to play in the stands, and the Viewettes helped on the field. I would've loved to have come back and play, but I don't think I'd remember everything after being out for 12 years now, lol. GO LOBOS and the Big Green Marching Machine.
  12. Longview leads 17-0 at the end of the half. FIVE turnovers by Guyer, turned into 10 points for LV. Kyle Jenkins kicked a 55 yard field goal. Just WOW.
  13. LV feed at www.theranch.fm All longview games can be found here
  14. 52-28 LV wins. Next Saturday evening (I believe) again at Kincaide vs. South Garland
  15. TD Belton, 52-26, 2-points are good, 52-28, :14 left.
