  1. Gilmer all the way to Jerrys World. Who would have thought at the first of the year that Gilmer would be where they are right now. After loosing everyone that they did, and then seeing our new district. Gilmer is very young on both sides of the ball, and to go undefeated in district and beat some great teams in the playoffs. This has been the toughest schedule I can remember Gimer having. and to be 13-1 is amazing. Gilmer should beat Graham and play a tough battle with Navasota in the title game winning in a close one, and just imagine how good they will be next year with everyone coming back.
  2. No excuses this time Henderson. Gilmer took yalls best shot in the first half and completely shutdown Brown and Hendersons Offense in the second half. Gilmer has just got Hendersons number since moving down from 4A. The best TEAM won tonight. Its funny how someone said that we were scared in the first half. Well, GREAT PROGRAMS like Gilmer dont care about playing a great half. The care about playing a great GAME. 4 quaters of football. Which is what Gimer did tonight. There can be no more EXCUSES by the Henderson fans. Brown is a great player, but it was proved tonight that you can not base your offense around one player and expect to win this late in the playoffs.
  3. WRONG, the final was GILMER BUCKEYES 28 HENDERSON CRYBABYS 26. THE END!!!
  4. And as for people talking about the refs. The last pass play Henderson had that set them up for there final Touchdown, yalls lineman got beat by Gilmers guy, and he probably stretched his jersey 5 feat holding him from getting to yalls QB. So yall should be happy the refs were subpar, because if it wasnt for that hold Yalls QB would have got blasted and the game would have been over then. Fact is the refs miss calls every week. Its part of the game. There were plenty of calls on both sides that were missed tonight, but the team that played through it and made the plays to win won, and that was Gilmer. Henderson has a great team and on paper probably should have won, but how many teams that Gilmer has played over the past few years can you say that about? Theres a few, but thats why we play the game, and thats why Gilmer has won CONSISTENTLY over the past 12 years or so. By the way Hendersons #44 is a beast. Putting pressure on Tanner all night. Great ball player.
  5. The penalties on the Two touchdowns in a row that were called back on Henderson was Illegal Procedure. There were 5 guys lined up in the backfield. Its not a hard call to make, if you dont count atleast 7 guys on the line of scrimmage then its a flag. Its that simple. Sorry its 7 weeks into the season and you still cant line up right. The reason Henderson lost is simple. You can make all the excuses you want about the refs, but Henderson didnt make the plays that counted at the end to win and Gilmer did. Like dropping a wide open pass in the endzone. The last three years Henderson has had better athlete's than Gilmer in my opinion, but all three years they have got out coached by Traylor and the Buckeyes. Sad part is I counted 26 seniors on Hendersons team and only 12 for the buckeyes, so next year is not getting any easier for Henderson. At the end of the day Henderson can cry all the want about the refs, but if they would have made the plays that counted it would not matter. Gilmer WINS!!!! Henderson LOOSES!!!! THE END!!!!
  6. Whether or not they are worthy opponents or not is your opinion, and you are intitled to that, but I was going by the final scores. Which not one was close and were all blowouts exept for the Prosper lose. I was not downing any team just stating that not having any close grind you out games can be a disadvantage when you get in the playoffs. As it was last year.
  7. Not many posters on here for Van Alstyne. I know that Celina played them earlier in the season. Just wondering if any of you Celina faithful can give us some insight on VA.
  8. I agree, stats have already been posted, and any other facts are going to come from what people have seen in the past in these cases. Playing mediocre teams does not get you ready for the elite teams in the playoffs. Playing medicre teams and blowing them out every week does not help your team get better. All it does is make them think that they are alot better than they realy are, and Argyle may be as good as they think they are, but nobody realy knows or will know until they beat one of the top teams in the playoffs. Which they will have a chance to do Friday. On the other hand Carthage has been playing some of the top teams in 3A and even some 4A teams. They have won some and also lost some, but to me that is what gives Carthage the edge. They have played competitive teams. They have had those close games that could have went either way, so they know how to react to those type of situations during a game, and ontop of that Carthage has the athletes to play with any team in 3A, and coaching for Argyle and Carthage is not even close. Not to say that Argyle does not have good coaches, but Carthages coaching staff is one of the best in the state, and has been in every type of situation and knows how to react. They have proven it over the past few years. Argyle has not proven anything yet.
  9. Right, but keep that crime scene tape. Yall will need it after friday night.
  10. Hey, when is Argyles run going to end......oh, wait, they dont have one.
  11. You want evidence Sherlock Holmes? Why dont you go back to Tyler Rose Stadium and get all the body chalk outlines that Argyle left on the field from that Carthage beating they took last season. Matter fact throw some crime scene tape up and just declare it a crime scene.
  12. OK, that makes sense why I dont know who they are, because they are a private school. Gilmer does not play private schools. They prefer competition. Once agian my point, strength of schedule. Henderson has it, and Celina does not.
  13. Yes, Kilgore plays Frisco their at 1pm, and knowing how us gilmer fans get their early it is going to be a mess with the kilgore crowd leaving and the gilmer crownd arriving.
